Actually all you need to make an application for 'day to day care' (new name for custody) is the child's full name and birthday.

But unless there's a major reason why it's in the Best Interests of the Child for a change in care, then he'd be hard pressed to get that. However if he's a bit annoyed about paying child support he might be going after shared care (6/14 nights per fortnight) to reduce his liability.

DP has been trying to get 'shared care' through the family court and it has been a total nightmare. He has a good well paying job, reasonably stable homelife and has been involved with the Kiddo since birth and it looks unlikely that he'll get anything more than 5/14 nights.

he might be trying to set up a bank account for her but i'm pretty sure he would need her birth certificate to be able to do that.
