We got it off trade me. He loves wearing his monkey! It looks much better than just a regular leash too.

Taine hated it, so we 'trained" him. Walking down the road, if he held my hand, he was okay, but if he took off- he got "the leash". we did this for a few weeks in our neighbourhood, and then he got the drift, we used the same techniques in more riskier areas - like town. we would also just put him in his pushchair - which he also hated.

When he was a bit older we played "stop, go" as in i would yell go, he would run off, then i would yell stop and he would freeze. both kids loved it and it stopped them running off completely.

Some kids will hold hands real nicely and then all of a sudden see something and just start running and it is easy to slip out of your hands. However with a harness and you holding their hand it is almost impossible for them to get away from you.

And speaking from experience it stopped my girl a few times of going out in the road, as well as stopping her from falling ect.

You get some of them that have a backpack at the back with animals on it. Google it.

My 25 month old son has just started doing this, and always in a very dangerous or inappropriate place. It's very scary, and always unexpected - he'll be walking along very nicely with me, either holding my hand, or just beside me chatting away, and next hting you know he's dashed off sideways onto the road, or down a driveway, or this morning, on his bike out into the carpark. Eek - very scary!
