Because of that we sometimes have a tired cranky baby - which means we might need to have a day off and hang around home or take it easy.

ETA: the above might be read wrong, I meant to say that Amys needs have now become part of the routine. They both sleep at 12pm, so we are home from any morning outing in time for them both to go to bed.

If we start a day cranky (either of them really) then we can easily stay home. I am a bit of a stickler for the kids getting at least their main day sleep in there own beds (if poss)

Edited by Bel

Toddlers can wait a bit longer than babies.

But... when I take the kids to DC Ava's routine gets messed up and TBH I don't care because I need to get to work as quick as possible. I wouldn't wait for her to finish a nap or anything before we went, but I do try and time her first nap so she's waking from a sleep cycle anyway.

Ava's a lot more needy than Jack was too, I think its because you don't devote every part of their waking moments to them. Atm Ava gets fed then popped on the ground while I tend to Jack, and picked up when she starts getting cranky.

But in saying that if she needs to be fed I feed her, and Jake has to wait. And if we're going out I will try to time it so Morgan can have a nap in the car on the way there or back if she is almost due for one. Jake sleeps for about 3 hours in the arvo and it really is not worth mucking that up!!

Four mornings a week Jack has activities on so Ben just has to tag along but it can interrupt his sleeps alot so on the other days I try and stay put at home so he can catch up and Jack has to work around Ben. If I have to go somewhere that means we are in and out of the car or short trips I try and make them in the late afternoon because Ben doesn't sleep well then anyway so it doesn't matter as much if he is interrupted
