lilfatty thank you for this contact I will contact her tomorrow morning and hopefully will be able to set up a meeting time with her :D

I will travel to where ever to get the best midwife :D

I would go with word of mouth over any registry after all its just a list of names..

I travelled all the way to GI to see my midwife as she had delivered nearly half the OB babies lol

But in all honesty, I went to her especially as she had such a good reputation from all the Mums around here.

This is the website for the midwifery registry on the NZ midwifery council:http://www.midwiferycouncil.org.nz/main/register/
You can search through every midwife in your are or NZ, see there qualifications and check they haven't ever been in trouble for misconduct and check they have an anual preactise cert.

Hi everyone,

Does anyone have any recommendations for a midwife in the Onehunga, Auckland or surrounding suburbs?

I got recommended Star who came highly recommended but she won’t be available in July 2010.

If anyone has any ideas or recommendations please let me know.
