    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=21186">Chickaboo</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 30143<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 30 November 2009 at 3:34pm<br /><br />yeah finding Multi grain bread still makes levels high - although forgot once I was eating honey grain which wouldn't help LOL<br /><br />Finding when i am sick my levels are on the higher side (sick with sinus infection at present weird but I guess it cause I am not exercising because of it running me down.<br /><br />I see the OB tomorrow to see what birth plan they have for me - Rhyley was a ceasar (my last birth) and because of that they won;t be keen to let me go over (big baby) nor want to induce me so I dont know if I will get my Vbac like I wanted.<br /><br />oh and growth scan next week... can't wait to see our little girl again and see what size she is. Midwife thinks shes on the little side - which by trend I don't do little babies!]]>

V boring but they stopped me taking metformin as levels were quite low with good (boring!) diet.</P><P>Was diagnosed at 28 weeks so got referred to Diabetic midwife at 30, had Toby naturally at 38w3d.&nbsp; He was 2.8kg and diabetes went afterwards.</P><P>I managed to live with boring food for baby's sake (was what I kept telling myself!) but became quite creative with poached eggs, salads, sardines&nbsp;and a bit of ground pepper and the odd bit of this and that....</P>]]>

I have avoided it last time and looks like i  will again - my dad and both his siters have type 2 diabete's and on insulin so I am hoping i don't end up the same - although i know I am very high risk.]]>

The insulin makes the results normal and nothing much seems to affect them anymore. I was getting crazy results eating healthily, and better results eating normally.</P>]]>

I have not been referred to a dietian this time around (2nd time) last time she said 'Everything in moderation' . if you deprive yourself too much you end up pigging out on it.]]>

If you're having something remotely sweet then fat isn't a good idea too. Fibre brings your levels down quicker (so Burgen bread instead of potatos or white bread).</P><P align=left>If you want juice I have VitaQuench, it's next to the Raro in the drink area. Dietitian said it was all good for pregnancy and diabetes. I'm living on toast at the moment.</P><P align=left>I eat anything with less than 10g/100g fat, less than 10g/100g sugar and more than 4g/100g fibre. Drinks are about 2g/100g carbohydrates or less.</P><P align=left>I'm not the best with my diet though <IMG src="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/smileys/smiley6.gif" border="0">. I tend to eat what I want within reason which sometimes isn't too good. Only 2 weeks to go!</P>]]>

I learnt this the hard way first time around.]]>
