I am still swaddling Jackson both day and night otherwise he wont sleep long enough and takes ages to get to sleep.

For both during the day and over night he is in a singlet and nappy and swaddled. I dont use another sheets or blankets. If either DH or I wake during the night to put the blanket on us we get up and put one on Jackson too.
Perhaps try without the go-go bag or other blankets and see how you go.

Ive also started leaving Jacksons feet unwrapped (I just pull the wrap up through his legs instead of over his feet) as babies equalise their body heat through their head and feet, and that has also helped.

We could have gone longer but it was February and so hot for the little guy that we just went cold turkey.

It took him a couple of nights to get used to his arms out - and we needed to resettle him, but ultimately it was fairly painless.

How do you feel about it? Mothers instinct is usually stronger than Plunket advice.

Re. transition to cot, we put DS into his cot for daynaps... he was so tiny in that big bed... and that took a couple of gos.
