We had a small stocking which had lollies/chocolate and a couple of small things. All the rest of our gifts were under the tree. As a kid we didn't have either stockings or a santa sacks, I suspect mum was worried about waking us up.  Everything got put under the tree.

My friend used to get a Santa Sack with a toy and some lollies/chocolates in, I think it was so she had something to play with when she woke up on Christmas morning in her room, unlike my brother and I who used to race out of bed at 6.00am wanting to see what Santa had put under the tree.

I've done this quite a few times through my pregnancy! I think with having morning sickness for 8 months so far of my 9 month pregnancy I'm quite entitled to a bit of sympathy Also like lilfatty said its also a way to vent, rather out than in!!

I like food courts...they're quick and easy if you're in town and I can get what I want. I used to go to cafes, but now I can never find anything that doesn't have oodles of cheese and I can't be bothered waiting for them to make something else from scratch. Yeah I find people do that a lot. Especially late at night and on weekends and it's usually those teenagers and young adults who are going out on the town or going to a party and are too lazy to use the regular parks and walk just a little bit further. Or else they aren't young ones, they are just lazy people! I am so familiar with that feeling!!! I used to work at a B.P in a very well off suburb and people would be SO rude to me! And I was nothing but polite. I had at least 1 customer who was so rude and nasty I nearly started crying. Another customer went mad at me because he rung up and asked when we closed and I said 9pm and then he turns up at 8:50pm and goes mad at me because I'd turned the pumps off already. I explained to him as he was going mad, that we are closed by 9pm, so we must have everything else done before that time. Malls have food courts so you spend more time in the mall and potentially spend more money, if you had to actually go home to cook and eat lunch you'd save a fortune.

I love Facebook updates I've got a few friends that live overseas and its an easy cheap way of staying in touch. I've also reconnected with people I'd lost touch with.

I don't get why everyone keeps telling me to have a baby when all they do is complain about their own.

ETA: oh and people who keep having more babies when they can't afford the ones they already have and then expect a handout....don't get me started on that!

I either buy cheap (like #1 cheap) or expensive shoes. Anything in between is a waste of time IMO as they don't last long, the heels are cheap plastic and last about 5 wears before you've got to pay $40 to get them replaced. Shoe connection are the worst for charging a lot for very cheaply made shoes.

Funnily enough I have a pair of really cool looking shoes on today that I paid $40 from #1 for and I've lost count of how many comments I've had on them. I love the shoe one...I can see my entire shoe collection from here...a pair of sneakers for the gym, a pair of black sneakers for work, a pair of boots for speedway and a pair of pink jandals. Oh, and I still have my wedding shoes somewhere...must put them on TM....I couldn't find any from No. 1 that were the right colour!!!

Mine too, everyone thought when the new law came in about indicating when leaving, that meant you should indicate the whole way through the roundabout if going straight. It's just plain stupid to do so.

Cuppatea, this was a double-laned roundabout so the intention there is to go if your lane is free, which it certainly would be if she was turning left (and no stopping or left turns after that). You also can't use possibly changing your mind of your direction as a defence if your indicators have been on and you shouldn't even be in that lane anymore IYKWIM. I thought according to the highway code you are not suppose to rely on another drivers indicator and shouldn't assume they are turning and so shouldn't pull out until they actually start to maneouver. Same as at junctions cos someone could indicate to turn left and then pull over to the side of the road just past the turning cos they never intended to turn, or they are indicating left for the roundabout/traffic lights up ahead not the side road etc.

But I don't get how people don't know how to indicate correctly at roundabouts, it's not that hard people. Left for going left, right for going right and if you are going straight ahead don't indicate until you are going to exit (and then it is your left indicator not your right!). I don't get the fact that if someone comes through a roundabout and doesnt use their indicator, and you hit them, it is YOUR fault for not giving way. If someone isnt using their indicator are we supposed to just sit at the roundabout waiting?

I don't mind Mafia Wars but I don't get Farmville. I also can't figure out how to disable the damn thing.

I definitely don't get Twilight. DH and I couldn't stand any more than an hour of the bad acting and boring story line. DVD got switched off. Not often (if ever) we do that.

I don't get why you would get a dog if you rent, (and them complain) because

1) Many of the nicer rentals won't allow dogs
2) You get notice or give notice cos the house is a sh*tter but can't find another cos of said dog
3) you have to rehome poor dog - upsetting yourselves, the kids and of course the dog!

I don't get why, when you dress your kids in PP, people assume you have spent a lot of money to do so.

I don't get why people who have kids still go out every weekend and get drunk, and then complain about having to listen to their child when they have a hangover.

I don't get Twilight or LOTR either. Never read the books or seen the movies...

I don't get why people want all the latest gadgets. We have friends who have the plasma TV, MySky, brand new lounge suite and everything else, yet complain about never having any money.

I don't get people who say they are TTC but then in the next breath tell you how they haven't BDed in months because they're too tired. Hrmm...can't really have one without the other???

I don't get why you can never win as a mum, whether you stay at home, or whether you go back to work. Either way, someone always has an opinion.

I don't get some of the little girl's clothes either!! I want my girls to look like little girls...not teenagers in the making at a year old!!!

I don't get why my MIL keeps going on about getting us a potty to use for the girls straight after their feed (as in, hold them over it until they go to the toilet). That's what nappies are for and I have enough cleaning and washing to do without adding a potty to it....!!!!

I really love farmville and cafe world, don't bother with Mafia wars but DH does. They're a load of fun and much like any other internet game really. For me they're kinda virtual worlds as I would love to have a cafe and farm IRL.

I really enjoyed the twilight movie but I sooo don't get adult women going bananas over the guys in it, its creepy, weird, and if it was a bunch of men going hysterical like that over 17 year old girls imagine the outcry?

I wonder if that woman did try breaking down the wardrobe door?  DH got locked in the bathroom a few months back while I was at work - it was in the morning and he was meant to be bringing Jimmy into town for his vaccinations.  I'd just started wondering where he'd got to, when he phoned me in this really panicked state saying "I've just had to kick my way out of the bathroom!"  The turning mechanism in the door knob had completely broken when he closed the door and there was no other way out.  Jimmy was in the lounge and DH had no phone or tools in the bathroom, so he just kicked and kicked until he'd made a big enough hole to climb out.  Thankfully the door was an MDF jobby, not solid rimu or anything .

Sorry, very OT.  I don't get cellphones.  We don't get reception here. Although yes, my lil brother gave me his old one when he moved to Oz, we NEVER use it.  But everyone else in the world seems to have them permanently attached to their body like another appendage.  There is a landline at work and in our house - if I'm not near them I don't want to talk on the phone, is that so wrong?

I don't get why;

-People do burn outs on my road every time they go around the corner.

-People feel the need to comment & lecture me because I am a vegetarian.

- We celebrate Guy Fawkes at all and esp people who let them off during the day.

- Some people are constantly negative.

- People feel they have a right to an opinion on breastfeeding, cloth/non-cloth nappies, immunisations etc on anyone elses child but their own.

-My friends ask for advice/opinions on child related things only to tell me "I don't know what I'm talking about because I don't have a baby"

-My Mum still smokes when she is about to be tested for lung cancer.

- My husband uses a new towel EVERY time he goes into the bathroom.

- Why my kitchen sink only has hot water?

- Why sooooo many people say they got pregnant while taking the pill. Seriously. Just admit it.

- Why people wear pyjamas in public places such as supermarkets, malls etc.

- Twilight & Harry Potter. Lame.

- People pay to see a movie & then talk the entire way through it!

- Why I can't just have a baby like everyone (not quite but you know) else!

Think that is about it at the mo but I have WTF moments on a daily basis! Ha ha

I don't get

Why MIL has to mention that Jett has auburn in this hair colour everytime she visits (which is fortnightly at the moment).  It's barely enough to comment on, and she doesn't mention that Rico's hair is dark and Gia's is a blondie/brown.  I don't get it!!

 

Also why Dh doesn't clean up the mess his children make, like cuppatea says - IT'S NOT HIDING!  WHY should I have to clean it up ALL the time - his children TOO!  And his OWN mess!!!!

 

People who stare in the supermarket if your child is over grocery shopping and starts to grizzle.  HELLO?  Never heard a child make noise before?  And I'm not going to apease the grizzle by giving him a lollie!
