I went into spontaneous labour with Maya at 38 weeks and she was born 10 days early.<br /><br />The gremlins were induced at 36w5d, but I was already 4cm dilated when I arrived to be induced and the midwife said they would probably have arrived within the next 48 hours anyway. We expected them to be way earlier.<br /><br />Lil miss I was induced at 39 weeks because I wanted her out. Again, I was sure she'd be early coz my cervix was ready from about 33 weeks but even on the morning of my induction the midwife said "this baby really isn't ready." She must have been ready coz she flew out 100 miles an hour.]]>

I think not only are different pregnancies different lengths, but some mums seem to have short pregnancies while others have longer ones, reasonably consistently each time, which makes me think thats just the way theirs will always be...very interesting...]]>

So I'm due "in December" and thats what I've been telling people. It also means although I'm nearly 39 weeks, I'm really not feeling the pressure of baby being nearly due, cos I know s/he might stay put till after christmas so its not getting to me, you know? Plus people aren't constantly asking if I've popped yet either, cos they aren't sure exactly when I'm due <img border="0" src="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0"> ]]>

Up until my c-section I had absolutely no signs of labour, and because of the position he was in, I doubt labour would have started anyway.<br /><br />This baby, well.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;I'm nearly a week overdue and up until a few days ago I was getting my hopes up at every little cramp or sign, but I've given up worrying now and am just trying to enjoy my last few days of reasonably good sleep.  I'm being induced next week if he doesn't come on his own before then.]]>
