I agree newborns mostly just need the AIO sleepsuits and gowns. Ella was a winter baby (and this one will be an autumn) and just had a couple of long sleeved bodysuits & pants but mostly I used AIO's. The only short sleeved bodysuits I had were the singlet or woolen type ones that went underneath the AIO.

I only had one for DD for newborn stage but have 6 for 3-6mths and yes still use them although she goes through the night now. She does still fit some 0-3month stuff, I find that cotton on baby is a little smaller in size as well. Also, the lady at Baby Factory told me I'd need lots of baby wraps. I ended up buying 3, but now I'm not sure what they're for. They don't look big enough for swaddling. I'd assume a swaddling wrap would be about as big as a cot blanket. Would that be right? But then if that is right, what are these baby wraps for? Hmm depends if baby is a swaddler or not. The muslins I had we could wrap DD in for a couple of weeks but she's a tummy sleeper so didn't work for long and are now spill cloths along with old cloth nappies. They might be swaddling wraps, if you want to use a swaddling wrap from experience get ones that are about a metre square, and muslin stretchy is good but pull tight because houdinis get their arms out. Another question, it says I need 3-4 day time outfits. Don't newborns just wear bodysuits? I had a few AIO's I liked to use for day time wear and showing her off in and I had others that were for only home and night time use lol. Majority of the time they do only wear AIO's or stretch and grows. Another thing that you can do if you wanted is to get a few pairs of pants and some jumpers and put them over the body suit. Layering is good for them as it is for us.

An AIO is otherwise known as a stretch'n'grow, and a sleepsuit. Way too many names for one thing. A romper is generally an AIO without feet.

A bodysuit is either long or short sleeved but tends to have 3 domes that do up under the bum and no legs.

I have no idea about what you'd need though. We've just got heaps of stuff in a variety of sizes and will see what works for us.

I had DD either in an AIO or sleepsuit/sack at night as I liked the idea of just being able to pull it up when needing to change her at night. You want something as uninterferring as possible and doing heaps of domes up when they are already asleep or unsettled can be annoying, even now at 4.5mths. 5. Will 1-2 blankets be warm enough for bubs or do I need something else? Remeber to wrap and this is considered an extra layer. If bubs doesn't like being swaddled then a few more then 2blankets imo is better, you never know bubs may poop on them and just like us they may want more then one. I used to put two blankets on DD. Try and put a heater on a timer so that the air is warm when they start waking up etc. Thanks!
