Although I did start feeling a little sick after awhile from the chalky texture so in that case I use gaviscon.  I suffer really bad reflux even before I was preggers.  I used to be on Losec but stopped when TTC but my MW and ENT specialist have said if it gets really bad again that nothing else is helping I can go on low dose losec which apparently is fine<img border="0" src="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<br />Next time I see my MW I think I will ask for that prescription as man its really uncomfortable some nights so I really know where you guys are coming from<img border="0" src="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/smileys/smiley5.gif" border="0"> ]]>

The second trimester it went away .. yeah!<br /><br />The third trimester it came back (as reflux<img border="0" src="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/smileys/smiley11.gif" border="0"> ) and I added 2 litres of milk (funny thing is I hate milk and only every drink green lid but I couldnt stand skim milk when pg and was drink full fat) per day to my diet. I had a litre carton on my desk during the day and would just sip from it.]]>

It has worked wondersfor me. I was getting really bad heartburn but I just keep the tablets with me at all times and have one when I feel the heartburn coming on and it relieves it instantly. My MW perscribed titrilac and its made a huge difference, some days I dont need to take anything which is nice.<br /><br />Hmmm interesting theory about the heartburn and the hair, I got heartburn bad with my daughter and she had lots of hair at birth and had her hair in pigtails at her first brithday and I didnt get much heartburn with my son and he was bald till he was 6 months old....]]>

Mylanta worked better for me than Gaviscon, and I slept with a litre of milk beside the bed (it neutralises the acid so doesn't hurt as much).  I also slept sitting up and stayed away from any acidic food (or, later on, any food that had flavour <img border="0" src="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/smileys/smiley5.gif" border="0">).]]>

So i was sleeping slightly raised. <br /><br />I only did it at 39weeks lol but it made a difference the last week.
