Yeah they drive you totally batty and make you feel like ripping you hair out and poking yourself in the eyes, then they do something just too sweet (like my two holding hands and giggling in the back of the car) and your heart just melts and it is all worth it.

Kids are always revolting in the week up until Xmas. I remember my mother saying this. It's like the tension and excitement all build up and its too much for them. When Brooke was younger I used to plan big days out at the beach, like a day trip to Piha or somewhere, with a bunch of other Mum's and we'd run them ragged all day long and stay out until about 8pm so they would crash when they got home. I actually think perhaps we should let our hubby's, partners, or fathers of the kiddies know that we are putting our leave forms in and that we will be leaving everything in their capable (perhaps sometimes not capable but we are at the not caring stage) and that we will be leaving for a holiday. No kids or dirty laundry or any guys welcome to join and we might come back after a week or 2, depending on how quickly we miss our loved ones but right now we need a break.

I'm feeling the same way, am just so totally over it all. I know understand why sometimes my mum would just leave the house for a while, cos we were all ungrateful little bastards as well. If I had a crystal ball and could see into the future as what life was like with kids - i would have done it a bit differently! Maybe waited a bit longer and had a bit more time overseas. I don't regret having Kahtrell. He is my proudest accomplishment....and yes he tests my patience on a daily basis!...but he is totally awesome. Having him turned my life down a different path. I had that drive to return to studying again.

It's a kids job to wind their parents up, and wreek havoc!....but God wouldn't bless us with these beautiful gifts if he didn't think we were up to it.
