Sounds like your D&Z is too big for you crafty1. That's the thing with pouch slings, they do need to fit you pretty much exactly! That's why I (like lilfatty) usually point people at Unido for pouch slings since they're made to measure. I have a D&Z sling but hardly use it as i just don't feel comfy with it. I always feel like i want to have one hand on the baby as he was not held close enough to me for me to be hands free. I used it more when he was bigger.

This time i'm looking at the Moby cos i'll have a teddler to deal with but i'm hoping someone will ask what this baby wants and i can tell them to get me one! Apparently your body temperature will adjust if you are wearing bubs so they dont' get too hot. Not sure if that is for skin to skin only or if it works though a top?

I my moby. I could never get the hang of the sling I also have a thing called a Papoozle made by tots bots which is very similar to a moby but easier to put on. plus I find I don't get as hot when I use it as you don't have to wrap it around your self as much as the Moby.

We have a BabaSling that I got my sister in Melbourne to buy for me cause not sure where to get them in NZ. I saw them at the Parent & Child Show last year and thought they were great. I have both and much prefer the wrap, but I wear bubba a LOT so I guess it depends on how much you plan to use it? I have a nature sway and DH likes it but I hate it. Its so uncomfortable

We recently got a moby and LOVE it. It doesnt bother me wearing it in the heat.. I get hot carrying Jake just in my arms LOL

DH doesnt like the Moby though, he wont wear it LOL so he uses the nature sway still.

A nature sway doesnt have a wide enough strap area to distribute the weight, so if you do go with a sling style I would go for a d&z or a unido (a unido is made to measure, so its probably a better option).

Are you in Auckland? Slingbabies run monthly meetings .. or you could just check out their pros and cons page for each type of carrier.

I love my moby d. I have a 13month old and she is happy as larry in it, she falls asleep so comfortably. We took her on bush walks while we were away and the weight was so evenly spread that it didn't make a huge amount of difference.

We have a nature sway sling (yet to be used!). The thought about the heat with a wrap made me sway slightly more towards the sling...but the wrap seems more comfy.

I have a sling which i don't like but it all depends on the type of sling and the person wearing it of course.

I love my wrap though. My baby usually settles and falls asleep in it. She's a reflux baby. We have a moby wrap too and adore it, it's just wonderful and really comfortable to wear. We had a sling, but I could never seem to get the hang of it! Baby # 3 is due any time now and with a nearly 2 year old already, Im thinking about getting a sling or wrap for the new baby, but I cant decide which one will be better!

Anyone have a preference or recommedation?
