I think , you should ask everyone who has kids, what they miss doing from their life pre children ,and do that :-D ,sleep in , stay up watching movies, read uninterrupted for hours,eat at non child friendly restaurants ,snuggle with your partner all day in bed , go to the supermarket in peace , etc etc etc

Lloyd Elsmore Pools in Pakuranga are brilliant, and best of all they're free I don't know about yoga classes, but there's aqua aerobics at the pool in GI. If you're not wanting to get short term work, maybe start up a hobby? Card making, scrap booking? Join your local library and get lots of books and magazines to read? You could even make an outing of it and curl up in one of the chairs and read there. Or get into art, doing something for baby's room?

Or you could do volunteering, like visit old people's homes to read to them or just be company, that sorta thing.

If you want the time to pass in a blur you could sign up for World of Warcraft. It's now banned on our house as DF and I cannot maintain a relationship and play this too! Very addictive! ;) I highly recommend taking up photography. There's always swimming. I know they're more south, but the manurewa pools are great (and free!). We're not far from squoggs so if you want to catch up or anything let me know (as long as you don't mind a 1yr old in tow :-)

But for the most part, enjoy your pregnancy cuz you won't have the same freedom you have now once bubs arrives! How great to not be working in the meantime. You could always come up with some 'nesting' activities if you like sewing or painting or building etc. What about volunteering to help at some playgroups or mainly music or something so that you get an idea of what's in the area when you've got a lil one?

LOL! I havent worked since I got pregnant with Thomas.. it does get very boring! I'd suggest getting a little part time job in something not too stressful, doesnt matter if its not to do with your degrees, something different is always fun. Buy the sims 3 or sims 2 and play that on the computer, just make characters and play and if you get bored of one character just make a new one!!

I could play that game for hours! yeah its a really long time! i havent been working since november... even though not due til feb. am a learn to swim teacher and term finished, and new term doesnt start early enough to warrant really going back. been giving Avon a go actually. gets me out of the house to walk around and deliver the catalogues and stuff, if you feel like crap, just do it the next day, and when bubs is out, its something i can keep doing/straight back into it, coz again it gets me walking, and can push bubs round in the stroller and get us both out, as DP and i share his car, so cant really just go for a drive or anything.

ummm could try some gardening? (just make sure in a well ventilated area so you not breathing in the potting mix smells etc.) ummm go for a walk or a drive and be like a tourist... find things you drive past every day, take photos, go have a coffee/lunch at a new cafe you havent been too before... DP and i love doing this, we just go for a drive, and just pick whatever road we feel like at the time. (great way to spend the day with your OH aswell... pack a lunch and go for a walk and a drive). could start your own coffee group with some ladies off here? if you a crafty person go to spotlight or some stationery/art shops and try a new type of craft? could go out and take some scenic photos (or piccies of old buildings or artsy shots or flowers or whatever you into) and get some canvas blocks printed for your home?

have you tried the pools - cant remember the one in pakuranga. most have aquarobics classes, you could do a gentle one if you havent done any exercise before getting pregnant. you could just go swimming there, great pregnancy exercise and further along you get the more comfortable the water might make you feel.

join the library and walk there, have a coffe and read a book while there before walking home again!

Hey Blondie, I'm in a similar boat - had to leave my work as it wasn't compatible with my pregnancy :-( It was ok while I had MS, but now I am starting to get a bit bored - who's going to employ a 20wk PG pilot?!

I'm out east Auckland too- so if you find out about any PG yoga classes, let me know - I would be really keen to try them. Also, I often head out for walks during the day if you want to join me :-)
