the kids at daycare were using it from time they were able to sit on the little chairs - about 6-9 months...it is a non toxic one they make (but beware the coloured poops! LOL)

Oooh playdough is so much fun! Homemade stuff is great, especially if you play with it while it's still warm. The cooked kind that is. Tessa has been playing with it for a few months through playcentre and at home (shes now 10 months) i sit and watch her and yep she's eaten a bit of it (homemade stuff tho the brought stuff says non toxic) hasn't done her any harm. Brennan has had playdough since about 10months. Its manly my playing with it and he pokes his finger into it.

The Auckland Kindergarten Association website has a playdough recipe. I would make your own since god knows what's in the commercial stuff and she's likely to eat some of it.

I've been trying playdough without success here for about a year. DD hates the way it feels on her hands.

I can't remember how old DD2 was but it was before she was one and yeah she ate a fair bit LOL... but like kebakat said I just sat and played with her... My daughter is 18months old and I was wondering when to give her playdough to play with. I gave her crayons to play with and she tried to eat them and I haven't given her playdough for fear of the same thing happening.

Is there a certain brand people prefer or just make your own?
