A lady I used to know in Ngatea is a midwife, Maureen O hara. Hmmm.. hopefully I'm not recommending the MW your friend already has!  But my friend's mum is a MW in Thames, has been for years and years so must be good, right?  I don't know her as a MW so can't really say, but I know she's got a good rep!

Her name's Karen ?last name Graham or Hansen (not sure but I think she works under maiden name, which is Hansen).  Good luck to your friend, and tell Karen (if your friend rings her) that Holly / "Holstein Pils" says hi!!    Lol....

My best friend needs to find a new midwife as hers is HORRIBLE!!! Can anyone recommend any from Thames or surrounding areas? She has said she doesn't mind traveling a bit if it means she can have a good midwife
