Well we bit the bullet and are going to stay with the Urban Elite.

We're just annoyed because with the store screwing up and stuffing us around we are now paying $150.00 more for the buggy than what we were meant to pay through them. WE got a fixed wheel for our first buggy and it was HORRIBLE. every time you want to turn you have to push down on the back of the buggy to make the front wheel lift off the ground and my mum never got the hang of that so would just wrnech the buggie round sideways and wondered why the clips holding out back wheels on got loose (too much pressure on them) and the wheels would just fall off the back - happened to me once when i was crossing the road - one of the wheels just came right off the back and rolled off towards the middle of the road. i nearly got bowled!

We have the Mountain Buggy Urban Elite, and I think it's fantastic. Only one thing - one of the tyres keeps going flat and I end up having to pump it up during walks. Apart from that, it's great! All 6 of us in my antenatal group have them (looks so funny when we go for walks with all of us with the same buggy in the same colour!!), and everyone loves them. I have a mountain buggy, terrain model. I have found it really good. It's really light to push and steer and so the fact it doesn't have a swivel wheel has never been a problem. The storage is a bit small, but then you would always need a bag with you anyway. The handle, not been adjustable has never been a prob either. Both my partner and I find it really good. And I find it easy to fold up and put in the car. I like my terrain. Dunno which one is better but I saw they had a few mountain buggys on sale at glenfield Farmers - they were something like $250 off cos they were floor stock and it was only for those particular buggies - (I guess they class them as demo models?!?!) ANyway we already have ours but if I had seen them at that price I would have gotten one cheaper!

If you can manage to get one with a wheel that is fixed and swivel, do it! Swivel is that much easier for manoevering!!! fixed wheels arent that great, bad for turning.

i had a mountain buggy and cant wait to get rid of it. they are so wide i have trouble taking it shopping and getting it in and out of the boot. the back support on them arent very good as it is all material. i find too that you dont use them in the beginning as you can keep bub in the capsule for easy transfer and use shopping trolleys or snap and go wheels.

so if i had my time again i would prob look for a good sturdy four wheel stroller.

so thats just my opinion of course.

I dont have a Mountain buggy, by my BabyLove 3 wheeler has the fixed/swivel option. I only have it on swivel, have never really used it fixed - I would only ever fix it if I were to go jogging which in my case is never going to happen! Adjustable handles are good if both you and hubby will be using it, otherwise as long as the height is good for you a fixed one should be fine. And a deeper tray underneath is good if you are going to use it for shopping, if just going for walks then a smaller one is ok.

I am so stressed now….a certain store in Silverdale has not only lost our lay-by record for our Mountain Buggy (Urban Elite), they no longer supply Mountain Buggy and do not have one in stock for us! I’m waiting to hear if they can supply one or if we will be getting our money refunded.

The question is now, I’ve been into Mama Mia’s and they have the Terrain on sale for an awesome price but I’m not sure about getting that model now that I’ve been expecting to get the Urban Elite. It is basically and extra $230.00 for the Elite and the main differences being an adjustable handle, deeper storage underneath and a swivel wheel that can also be fixed.

If anyone has any feedback on these two models I’d really appreciate it! (or even feedback on fixed wheel vs swivel wheel options)
