For my child I would definetly go with the Kindergarten as it is usually more professional and often the teachers have higher qualificiations and are all registered (or working towards it). In saying that all Kindergartens are different and you need to feel comfortable with the teachers, the environment and what they are going to offer. Sorry not much help really

Should make it all a lot easier. Plus saving you travel time means more quality time with your kids.

Check it out and see if you're happy with the ratios and activities etc.

Is it private or public? Only reason I ask is because ours is provate and the ratios are incredibly high. Have you spoken to them about their ratios? It would be hugely benificial if you could get a morning or two off work just to visit...the visits don't tie you down, and you'll get a feel for the staff, other kids etc, and the way they interact.

    Author: my2angels
Subject: 31221
Posted: 28 January 2010 at 3:33pm

Sorry I know this has probably come up before but Im hoping for some advice/opinions.

Addison is in daycare full time (well school hours but basically full time and this is not buy choice, I have to work)

The kindy next to Kobes school has just started opening full days, school hours (which I know not everyone is happy about but thats not the issue) now I dont know if I should move Addison or not. I dont really know a lot about kindy. I love her daycare and its pretty new so has a lot of good resources but it means a lot of extra travelling to get her there and back where as kindy would just be like dropping Kobe off (which is right next to our house so super convienient). Plus it means she would get to know kids she will go to school with and they take the kids who are going to be starting school over to the class they will be in a few mornings a week to transition them. My only concern is how closely they are watched with the lower ratios. what sort of teacher/child interaction there is or do they just have complete free play and the teachers just oversea rather than get involved?

Addisons daycare is very nurturing loves the teachers, would she still get this sort of attention at kindy?

Anything else Im missing that I should be considering and to those of you who have kids at kindy are you happy with the level of care etc....

thanks in advance
