    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=804">jaz</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 31314<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 01 February 2010 at 7:36pm<br /><br />Empty and turn off the freezer<br />Boil the jug<br />Fill a large plastic bowl with boiling water<br />Place it in the freezer<br />Shut the door and leave it about 10 mins<br />Go back and gently prise the ice off with a plastic egg flip or similar, big chunks will come off and fall on the bottom of the freezer<br />Empty bowl of hot water and use it to scoop out ice.<br />Wipe it down, return the food<br />REMEMBER TO TURN THE FREEZER BACK ON. <br /><br />I've forgotton the last one quite a few times. <img border="0" src="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/smileys/smiley9.gif" border="0"> ]]>

We used to do the bowl of boiling water and shut the door, works but you've still got to carefully chip it away.]]>

Worked a treat, but not 100% sure how safe that would be!]]>

Don't just pour it onto the ice though as that can cause damage. instead put the water in a container / bucket and shut the door for a bit. The heat will melt the ice. <br /><br />]]>
