A specialist moving company will have that all in the package.

Crown has a good website where you go through & virtually pack stuff room by room. They can give you a cost on this but you can save it & print it to get costing from other companies.

This website http://movetoaustralia.net/ is fabulous for moving to Oz.

Thanks to Sept 11 and the US it can be very difficult to get the paperwork donweif you are going anywhere near the US or through it.
You could use a Freight Forwarder like RasberryJam suggested but they won't do the packing for you like a moving company will so just depends on how much work you want to do yourself

The container sizes are 20" and 40" which is huge , so incase you dont fill one you can still ship. There are quite strict restrictions on safety of carriage - items must be well packed. obviously you dont want them flung around on the sea either. A freight forwarder will also have agents that can complete customs declarations and all the paperwork to shift your cargo.

I used to work in shipping so if you like I could ask someone in the know who is the best

Edited by Raspberryjam

We bought a 20' hi-cube to shift islands and you'd be looking at $2-2,500 for a certified furniture grade one. We bought our own as our stuff would be in there for some months and we knew we'd get our money back that way (and we since have) but you may find hiring one works better for you.

We were just about able to fit in the contents of a 5 bedroom house but that was with some very skillful packing by DH. A regular 20' would have been too small and a 40' way too big for us.

You're probably better off giving a relocation company a call and getting a quote, that way you know all your associated costs will be in the picture, try someone like Crown or World Movers. They'll do the packing for you too if you want and of course make sure all your customs obligations are met.

Then you will have x days once it's arrived to unpack (devan) it. I think they give you 2-3 days to unpack it before you get charged.
