we have an electrolux and i love it.
i paid $630 for it but iv seen them advertised for $500 at godfreys every now and then.

our dyson was $800 i think but we brought it at a farmers card holder night so i think it was only $500 we ended up paying. I think i may have found the problem with it tho as the filter hasnt been cleaned cos i lost the instructions when we moved and my friend has borrowed it and offered to clean it for me. I can't remember exactly but I think my Miele Cat & Dog retailed at about $599 when I got it?? That was a few years ago but don't think they've decreased in price much.There are a few different models so obviously it depends on what model you go for. I am seriously considering selling our dyson and getting a miele cat and dog. Everytime i use mums i cant get over how well it works. I wonder if she will notice if i swap mine with hers

What are the Mieles worth? I used to sell Vacuums and Dyson were always one of the more popular ones because they are bagless but I found them too bulky. I have a Miele Cat and Dog which is BRILLIANT! It has a huge amount of suck! You can also buy HEPA filters for them which I have done as my DF is asthmatic also. I wouldn't trade it for the world. It is super sturdy and easy to manouvere. Have had it for about 5yrs and it's still as good as new. Peachy recommended us our vaccum in 2008 and it is still going strong. We have a bagless Nilfisk and we love it. I can't remember thename but maybe Peachy may know. Our neighbours have dogs and cats and it picks up their hair with ease.

I coveted a Dyson for years and ended up buying an Electrolux, which IMO, I have to say kicks ass over the Dyson. I have regularly used a Dyson so it is an informed opinion.

I have a dyson which i thought was awesome in the beginning then i used mums cat and dog meele man that thing can suck!!! Make sure you get one with a HEPA filter for your DH.

Vacuuming can make me so grumpy with a normal one but since we've got a Dyson, never had a problem, I actually enjoy it now.

I love my dyson, only thing I don't like is that it doesn't vacuum that flat, ie under coffee tables but my friend has one that is similar to the dyson & it does do this. so like a lot of other people cleaning is not a favorite activity...and to make it worse the vaccumcleaner packed up yesterday...
so im wondering if you got any recommendations? want a bagless on, with MEAN suction...DP is asthmatic as well..
