Still spilled, but didnt have the pain that went with it. She started to enjoy being on her back and was generally much happier.

Lexie is okay on them after her first wee splutter, I just found that the formula was going cold for her on number 1 teats aswell coz she was drinking so slow and I can't make it any hotter than I have it coz she will fuss! I worked this out after her fussing at the start of each feed for a few days and I would try her 5-10 minutes later and she would take it fine. Will definitely mention her symptoms to my doc tomorrow just to make sure then

It looks like a lot, but really it's not. Maybe do it a couple of times until the water on the bench looks like the amount of milk she is spilling, then you can gauge with a measurement how much she is actually spilling.

And yes, I think babies can spill without it being reflux. Like T_Rex said, the valve in the osepha, osophe, osofa....ah crud can't spell it...that thingee anyway, it's under developed and doesn't always close off to keep the milk down in their tummy.

As long as she's growing and not in pain then all is well.

The spilling was quite gross though - she went through bibs like no tomorrow, and anyone brave enough for a cuddle usually got a lil baby badge as a souvenier

She definitly grew out of it though - around 9-12 months.

Eww and the cot sheets too - I used to put a mattress protector underneath her sheets and a clean sheet under the protector because she would spill in her cot too - so then at night I could just whip off the dirty sheets without too much hassle.

Tane has never been spilly at all which was a nice change lol

There was a period where he used to spill what looked like his entire feed everytime I fed him, I even rang Healthline I was so worried, however he didnt (and does not) have Reflux, he was just an extremely spilly baby.

I recall someone on here said if you get a teaspoon and fill it with water then put it on the bench it looks like loads, but in reality it isnt, so hopefully it looks like she is bringing up much more than she really is.

Oh and Elias is still quite spilly .. but he is getting better with age.

My DD spills lots too. Its messy, and sometimes there is lots of it and sometimes it's really chunky & clotted. But she's happy as can be and growing like a weed, so all good, I think.

Also, she's just started spilling less in the last week (still plenty, but less than before) so Lexie mightn't be too far off getting better. Apparently the valve at the bottom of the oesophagus is not properly developed in some babies and milk leaks back out of the stomach until it finished developing - which would explain why DD is spilling a bit less there days. It's perfectly normal, apparently, unless it's causing the baby pain.

She's also spilled several times in front of both the MW and the plunket nurse and they've said it's fine

Hope that helps!

But she does seem to spill a fair amount, Like this morning after a feed over the next hour or so she spilled 7 times some of them seemed to be fairly big spills too, these didn't seem to upset her at all though. She wasn't uncomfortable between spills so I didn't think it was trapped wind? But of course I could be wrong.

What do you think?
