It was terrible. Took me by suprise and I was down for days with it... Probably took a whole 2 weeks before I was feeling fine and eating properly again, although being pregnant would have slowed that down.

We are on town water but I still boil it and chill it in fridge, so much nicer to drink!

Glad your feeling better, it's not nice being sick at all

I got DH and our flatmate doing many trips for powerades and lucozade, I found them brilliant. Lucozade was the best (it tasted the same the second time I saw it ) and they were the two things that definately made me feel better!!

Apparantely it has something to do with helping replace the electrolytes, even if you can hold it down for a few minutes it'll make a huge difference! So I definately recommend lucozade- I always have a stash of it in the cupboard now!

I was really bad though, sitting on the toilet with the bucket going (ever heard of brandy snapping? hehe ) And I even had the sweats real bad.. Had DH and the flatmate looking after me, if it wasn't for them (flatmate even took day off work when DH had to go to work that day) I dunno how I would have coped!!

Buzzy, it might have been left over roast chicken. But I nuked the heck out of it so it should've been alright. Our neighbour reckons it could've been the water – we've just moved into a rental property with tank water and even though it goes through 3 filters, he reckons it's still filled with bugs. I've stopped drinking it just in case!

Vomiting has now stopped and I feel almost 100% again so maybe I did have that bug, WRX. I was at the Pakuranga shops and at the airport on Thursday so I was definitely around a lot of crowds that day.

Dr stressed getting enough fluids and also taking Hydralite or Gastrolyte to help replace lost salts. He said not to worry about trying to eat anything till I felt like it as baby would be fine for a few days with whatever stores I had. If you're not able to keep fluids down or you're still vommiting after 24 hours I'd go to the hospital as they'll probably want to put you on a drip to get some fluids into you (I had to have that last year when I was BF and when you also need extra fluids - it makes you feel HEAPS better!).

Do you know what you ate to cause the food poisoning? Different bugs can affect babies in different ways.

Really hope you feel better very soon!

I'm trying to find some information on food poisioning during pregnancy.

I threw up 5 times yesterday then once again this morning at 5am (only stomach bile left by that stage). They've been very violent episodes and I feel dizzy and faint while they're happening. But apart from the vomiting, I have no other symptoms so I can't pinpoint what it could be.

Urgh, I just threw up again while writing this.

I had one episode of diarreha yesterday morning, but nothing since. Baby is still moving so I'm not extremely worried about it but I do like to research stuff and know what's going on. I just called my MW who gave me some tips on trying to keep fluids down and told me that it should pass but if it doesn't, to go to the doctor's. I stupidly didn't ask her how long I should wait before doing this. Another 24 hours, perhaps? Anyone know?
