Rose, I used to be a nanny so still have lots of nanny friends who do babysitting, as do the majority of the girls at work. Im not sure how much an hour you would want to pay though, they charge more than a high school girl for example.  You could also ring porse as they have night time babysitters on thier books.

I'm starting to think about this too, What we are going to do is approach the local college and see the teacher in charge of childcare and get their reccomendations.

Other option since you are in a city is find a training teacher or nanny who would love the extra experience.

Ok, I've never needed to 'hire' a babysitter before and have absolutely no idea what to do!

I'm a single mummy, and the only other person who looks after Ty is my Mum, who lives next door! (how lucky am I!!) The prob is, she works full time with special needs kids (so her job is full on and very physical) so I feel I can't ask her to babysit every time I need a sitter (which isn't really that often). It would just be so handy to know that there was another possibility aside from my Mum incase I needed someone to watch Ty.
