If she wakes - we too feed her. 90% of the time she will wake 45 minutes after going down at night - suck back 100mls (HUGE feed for her) and staight back to sleep. But is she wakes again - we still feed her.

 

Do whatever makes you comfortable - as someone else said - did you ever hear of a uni kid still waking for a bottle in the middle of the night?

Emmecat Aston is exactly the same. Wakes a few times in the night, once for hunger I think, and then we have the horride period between 430-630am where he wakes and whines and whinges out of habit I think. He will only go back to sleep for 20 min before waking again at that time of morning.

Also have the issue with blankets. He has sleep bags, which are ok, but he rolls so much they get wound up, and he doesnt like them much. Still he sometimes sleeps better in them I think because of the cold. Hates me putting normal covers over him if he's not in his sleep bag.

At the moment he is waking almost every hour, although I'm hoping thats a teething thing, but it's not uncommon for us to have 4-5 wakes a night. Like SBM I co-sleep so it could be more or less in my dream state (not that it feels like I have had any sleep of late)

At that age my boy was definitely feeding at night - I can't remember how often, but I think it would have been twice a night. Yep, Cam still gets booby at night too! Usually once or twice a night. I'm sure its just habit now, but as we co-sleep its just soooo much easier to get him back to sleep with a quick feed, then roll him back over. I dream of the day (or rather, night) when he decides to just start sleeping through.... although I think its me that must make the effort.

Does anyone have a good way to wean their 1 year old off night-time booby, without crying (his and mine)?

K's totally FF now and still wakes up for one feed during the night, she goes down at 7 and wakes up between 1 and 4. I was BFing till about 9 1/2mths and he would often need at least one feed during the night, though I think it was mainly comfort.

And just lately (may be because he has a cold) he has even been needing a bottle during the night every now and then as it has been the only thing that will resettle him.
I have always just gone with it. If he didn't want it he wouldn't have it. Hmmm I wondered about the solids thing as for a chubba bubba, she doesn't really eat that much! Weight must come from my boobies lol

Today I've made a concerted effort to give Clodagh her meals and snacks earlier than usual adn we'll be trying a much earlier bedtime...I'll try adn have her in bed by 6 cos she is super whiney and grizzly by then and I think she's tired. Nothing ventured and all that!

And yeah I tried the sleeping bag thing...she doesn't like them at all AND has figured out how to unzip them, undome them and unvelcro them lol  I might rename her Houdini.

He's not any more but A did until he was night weaned at 11 months; we started when he was 9 months with the night weaning. Shame looking back now though because a month later when no one was sleeping it would have been nice to have in my arsenal.    My rules when we decided to try the night weaning (he went 3 weeks without them at 7 months old)were gentle and sympathetic to his needs.........if it meant we were all back to bed and asleep quicker I am all for doing what is required to get there. LOL

Same! DS has been waking a couple of times per night quite a lot recently. There's no point in doing anything but feed him when he wakes, as he's clearly hungry and generally settles quickly again after a feed.

His night feeds are a bit all over the place - last night it was just once at about midnight. The night before was 3am. The one before that was 10pm and 2am... On rare, blessed occasions he will sleep right through from 6.45pm to 5am...

I'd definitely recommend a sleeping bag too. Though DS has actually figured out how to get out of his. Yup, here too. Having said that, he is FF and has a bottle before bed - around 6.30pm, then another one at around 10pm, and then usually he wakes around 4-5 and chats to himself, and sometimes wants a feed then as well.

Also, how much solids is she taking? I notice that if H has really good meals with protein in them he tends to have better sleeps. Just a thought.

Have you tried a sleeping bag? H is impossible to get under a blanket, and the sleeping bag has been a life saver. We have a winter one and a standard one, at the moment he is in the standard one (1 layer merino inside and 1 layer cotton on the outside). Me too!

Nearly 10 months here and I've been feeding nearly every night for the last 4 months. It's only once and can be anywhere between 1am and 6am, but usually around 4am. However..... he has slept through until 7.30am the past two nights so if he wakes tonight I am going to try to resettle him without a feed. I'm not worried either way though as it's only 10 minutes and I'm a terrible sleeper so I'm usually awake anyway!

I posted this in the infant/toddler feeding forum but then thought maybe it goes here better? Ooops sorry

Just curious and I'm not stressing about Clodagh 'still' BF twice a night at 9 months old, cos it just is what it is lol

But curious how many other Mama's are still doing it too? (I know at least one is lol you know who you are )

When I say 'night', I mean from whenever we can convince Clodagh it's time to go to bed after her 'last' BF of the day (that can be from 7pm- 9.30pm ) through to the morning. Generally it's midnight-ish and 4-ish. the midnight/1/2am feed, she's hungry. The 4am one I'm pretty sure is a combo of cold/habit (that's another story...she REFUSES to have any kind of covers on her. sigh )

Ooohhh she's a wee trick......
