Author: millymollymandy
Subject: 31899
Posted: 25 February 2010 at 12:26pm

Hi,
I have been working on getting consistent waking and sleep times, to ensure that DD's body clock works in with the day. plus giving her good settling routines and cues around feeding play and getting her playing in cot etc. Plus I got the No Cry Sleep Solution from library to look at how to wean her from needing to nurse to go back to sleep. For the most part its working, but evening bedtime is a mess.

We give her dinner, a nudie kick, then a bath, she gets a B/F stories and singing, cuddles, tucking etc before being put to bed. But she won't put herself to sleep (can do in daytime) and either cries or calls out and then cries, at which point we get her up and try to do something different. I have found that trying reassure in the cot makes her more upset. The heat isn't helping.

Have tired both having a late afternoon stroller sleep and not and neither seems to make a difference.

As anyone dealt with this - what are some causes? Sleep associations? Noise (am shifting to a cooler quieter bedroom at weekend.) How can i get her to be happy to drift of to sleep in her cot in the evenings. I would like my evenings back so once in a while I could go out and she could get more sleep!
