sorry to hear that Paws - I was the same on my birthday at the end of June - felt huge and uncomfortable and miserable and thogth to myself it was no way to spend a birthday - mind you mine was 28 so not really a landmark but still?!?!!

Hey girls!!! Well Taupo more than made up for my miserable Friday. We toddled on down there at a nice pace and checked in at the Caboose Lodge for our Chocolate Delux weekend....chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate!! There were chocolates on our bed (gorgeous room!). We headed down for a spa after they confirmed the temp was around 36degrees...had dinner at the onsite restaruant...I had the best ostrich ever!!! The whole meal was superb! They bought us our chocolate souffle deserts by the fire in the next room as we cheered on the All Blacks and later toasted marshmellows over the fire and had our hot chocolates.

Wombled back today slowly and stopped at the kiwi house and Hamilton for devine nachos.

oh you poor thing...and to miss out on HELL pizza - not good....I must admit that the cranberry camembert chicken pizza is a fave and usually I get it for my birthday too - my choice! Guess thats off the menu for me for birthday in 6 days this year

Well on Thursday the back pain came back with a vengence accompanied by charming stabbing pains down one side of the belly. So I got taken into Monique. She throughly checked me over and an earlier urine test ruled out a UTI. So with that off the hospital I was sent.

They did more bloods, urnine tests, poked and prodded and hooked me up to the external monitor for an hour. (now I know what I was feeling are Braxton Hicks when I get that pushy crampy feeling - painless my butt!). Maddie seems to hate those monitors and did not stop moving for one solid hour and we were positive she was going to pop out of my belly Alien style.

Got to go home with a referral for a scan the next day (my birthday). Couldn't get into Insight so......back to the hospital. about an hour waiting to hear when I could have a scan...find out I could have one at 2.00pm but no food thanks...all I had was a small bowl of cereal and I was STARVING!!! You can imagine how sick with hunger I was by 2.00pm. Naturally the scanned showed nothing wrong. (figures!).

Went to get food....couldn't find ANYTHING decent open...finally thought we'd grab a video and a pizza from Hell and make the most of the rest of my birthday but Hell's oven had gone bust! ( I kid you not!!!!). That's when the tears finally came. And lots of them.

We finally got a big Indian Banquet to take home and a couple of videos which was great but jesh what a way to spend my 30th Birthday!! And they still have no idea why the back pain - I guess I'm just stuck with it until Maddie is here.

At least we're off to Taupo today for our overnight pamper trip!
