O use the mocrowave now, but when Alan was on formula I would make the bottle fresh every time I would have about half the amount of cold boild water in hte fridge then top it up wiht fresh boiled water the add formula it was usually the right temp straight away and that way if there was any leftover I could sfely reheat it in a jug of hot water. I use the microwave, although I didn't with expressd milk. I found once he was drinking over 100 mls or so, it took FOREVER to heat in a jug of hot water, and my boy is super super impatient. Thanks for your replies. I have been using a jug of boiled water but sometimes Zac is screaming for the bottle so in those instances I will use the microwave. Nah i used to not think much of it cos of the heat spot things and also mainly cos we used expressed milk which shouldn't be microwaved cos apparently microwaves kill all the good stuff in breastmilk, but other than that we now use it for Ayja's bottles all the time cos she is so damn impatient and to be honest so are we when she is screaming the house down at 2am 4am 5am and 7am.... at the mo she is crazy with sickness teething and being a grotty 13 month old - which maybe paris went through but i cannot remember cos i thought she was grot at that age anyway since i was newly preg and very tired. lolol

I use a microwave to heat Rhiannons bottle, it takes about 45secs, and then i just shake the bottle afterwards

I use the microwave to heat Han's milk (cow's milk)... I just make sure I shake it a bit. Yeah, I've heard it's because microwaves don't heat evenly and it can cause some parts of the milk to be too hot - but then I suppose you could fix that by mixing it. heat spots. the microwave heats unevenly and can create spots that are really really hot. If you mix really well, should be okay. I heard tip up and down 10x. We use it all the time, I know Janine hates it. microwving formula that is, not that I do it. She probably doesn't care about THAT too much at all. Hope everyone gets what I'm rabbiting on about
