Sorry, I meant it is available nationally. You don't have to have your child immunised. And thank god they are not (doing it nationally here) it is personal choice and shouldn't be forced on people.

Personally I wouldn't do it as your chlids immune system is already compromised. I would focus on natural health, good diet, healthy enviroment, sleep, chiropractic, cranio sacral and homeopathics.

I personally haven't had any medication, antibios or anything for literally 10 years, neither has my DD 8months or my husband as we focus on prophylaxis through healthy diet and lifestyle.

Just so you think of the other side of the coin vaccinations completely bypass the normal path of a virus or disease (being our mucous membranes) 80% of our immunity is controlled by our digestive system, so by bypassing this (injecting into the skin or bloodstream) the body react very differently than it would if it was to actually come into true contact with the same disease. It puts the nervous system into complete chaos, meaning the childs overall immune system is actually not as strong!

If it helps, they are immunising all babies over six months here in the UK. Its being rolled out nationally. Hi Rach

I'm in the same situation. My DS has chonic lung disease (on top of other major health issues) and the slightest cold puts him in hospital. I've decided to give him the flu injection this year, as I feel there is more positives than negatives. If DS gets swine flu, then there is a good chance that he will not survive it. I'm not taking that risk. Admittledy, I have not done too much research, I'm more going off the advise from all the specialist involved in my DS's health care.

Hey ladies
I really really really dont want to start a debate, so please don't take this the wrong way.
Our DS has been diagnosed with asthma, and has it quite bad. As soon as he gets a slight cold, we were having to take him to the hospital and spend up to 2 days on the nebuliser keeping his oxygen levels at an OK lever. He now has inhalers, which we were able to use while he had a cold last week, he only had to spend an hour on the nebuliser, and was given some steroids before we were allowed to take him home and control it with his ventolin etc.

He is now considered high risk for H1N1, and we have been told to think about the vaccine for him. The problem is that there doesnt seem to be all that much testing on kids with it, and it is too early to tell how effective it is. I really dont want him getting super sick over the winter, expecially with swine flu, but I am struggling to decide whether or not to vaccinate.

Does anyone have any (preferably neutral ground) facts or information on the vaccine that could help us out. I have found lots of negative stuff, but that seems to all be from anti-vaccine opinions, which I am not (but respect anti-vaccine opinions and their reasonings).

I am quite scared to post this, as I really dont want to start an immunisation debate but here goes...............
