the other day my neice asked me how Addison came out, I thought no Im not going to answer that, her mum can. She came to the conclusion that she came out my tummy so I said yeah sounds good to me, then she couldnt figure out how they put my tummy back together again so I said they stitched it she asked if they used special glue so again I just went along with it and said yep. She must have been thinging about it for a while though cos later she asked how they got my tummy open. yuck I hate the swab feeling. I dont think my midwife used the duckbill when she broke my waters, Im sure I would remember that horrible feeling. Paws - when I had the bleeding the week before I had the lovely duckbill thing. I think to though she used it 'cos she wanted to see if she could spot the discharge and have a really good look to see what exactly was going on as opposed to just seeing if I was dialating...hopefully it will be different in labour and that duck bill thing will comeno where near me!! I only had one internal while I was in labour and I can honestly say I barely even noticed? Yeah Monique said it can vary for people having internals at this stage...some people won't find it to bad and then at the other end of the scale she said some will find it feels like razor blades going in.

I definetly don't have an issue with smears but this was a different sort of owie for me. I didn't have any until i was pretty far gone in labour with either (helped that i didn't see my midwife till then lolol) first one with paris was when midwife finally got to my place at 8.30am (after me going into labour at 5am), dragged me outta the bath and promptly did an internal and said "lets get going of to the hospital with you!" I think i only had a couple more and couldn't remember them really. With Ayja it really hurt cos when she did the internal when i first got to hospital she found by membranes were really bulging but still had to find out how dialated i was. so ouch that hurt, but then, the whole thing hurt so it al goes hand in hand. (lololol) once she broke my waters though, ahhhhh what a relief for a few mins - i never had the horrible pressure sensation with Paris cos waters broke first.    next internal was only 10 mins after waters broken cos i got urge to puch, and that hurt a little cos there was as small lip of cervix left but otherwise fully dilated, so she held the lip back so i could push the head past it, then moved her hand out. I'm sure everyone is different but mine were very painful. Ashleigh's head was really low and was in the way so they couldn't feel my cervix properly. They were trying every angle and i think thats why it hurt so much!! I think I had 3 the night I had her but had about another 3 in the couple of days leading up to it. Oh that reminds me, I was laughing the other day reading my discharge thingy from my midwife and it has all the timimgs on it that things happened. It says I was in labour for 84 hours, I was fully dilated at 12.16, waters broke at 12.18 and bubs was born 12.23!! Over pretty quickly after that long a labour!!!

And now I come that think about it, the last couple of internals, especially that last one ("you are now 10 cms dilated, you can push when you want") didn't hurt as much. Maybe it is just in the early stages or when you aren't dilated much that is hurts?? (Or else it just blends in with all the other pain!)

I think smears are much worse. Ive had a few internals now and well dont enjoy them at all but would rather that than a smear. Well first appointment over with…Monique checked everything out and did an internal….I hope none of you have to have one of those at 32 weeks pregnant because it hurts like a b***ch!!!!! B said he was cringing listening to it. But she didn’t see anything to startle her….just the discharge (there was more after I posted this morning….There are a few things it *could* be so we’ll see with the scan.

Once she has the fax of the scan she’ll talk to the obstetrician but I’d say everything is going to be fine and so does she.

She also said that particulary painful BH *could* be irriatable uterus so we'll just keep on eye on it. I don't know if anything can be done if it is though.

Now I’ve been having some spotting…nothing too major and not red blood but brown (sorry if TMI!), like you get at the end of your AF.

I’ve spoken to Monique and I’m all set up for appointments tomorrow, seeing her in the morning and a scan in the afternoon…of course if things get worse I go in immediately….jesh I feel like everything is happening at once.   

I know that there is probably nothing wrong but I guess a little part of me can’t help but be a little worried.
