Ange221- yeah it's the booster seat seatbelt she keeps undoing.

As soon as she starts to get out I pull over staight away.

 

i saw the blue clingy thing, but after having a play with it decided that she could probably undo that as well.

 

Her fav daycare teacher had a talk to her about the policeman telling her and Mummy off, if she got out of her car seat and then we had a big talk about it.

The angel guard is great. Is it the main seatbelt she is undoing or is she undoing the straps on the booster seat.

If it's the main seatbelt then the angel guard would be perfect for you. My DS doesn't even bother touching it anymore because he can't even get his fingers on the button.

If it's the booster straps that are being undone then the problem is a little more complicated. My sister solved this problem by dragging her DS (then 3.5) into the police station and explaining the problem to the desk sergeant. He took her DS into a room alone and had a quiet word to him and he's never done it since.

we dont move unless seat belts are done up and i have been known to pull over at the side of the road.

Mothers instinct used to sell the hurphy durphy, i think that was designed to stop kids pushing the buttons open.... not sure if it would work for on the seat though.

Can you do it up back to front so she can't get to the button?

I have a blue clip thingy that snaps over the shoulder straps and stops them from being able to get their arms out which I bought at baby city. Unfortunately it doesn't stop them from being able to press the button, but it was enough to put Benjy off when he couldn't get out even with the straps undone.

We got my niece to stop by having our mate who is a policeman come and tell her about how important seatbelts are and how she must always wear one or she'd be breaking the law. She didn't know him so it was very effective for her.

Ella has now figured out how to undo her carseat and can get herself out of the carseat very, very fast now. We got one of those houdouri (sp?) clips things a while back, but she figured out pretty quickly how to undo that as well.

 

I have been talking to her about the importance of carseat safety etc and using Dora as an example "Dora says seatbeat on so we can be safe", but she just gets this really cheeky look on her face and does it anyway.

 

SO, can anyone recommend any products on the market to get combat this problem. I have just been into babycity and was looking at a product called the Angelguard, so was wondering if anyone had used that and if it actually worked?

 

*sign* NOT  a good time to learn this new trick.
