I have used buyusa (a kiwi website - you can google it). Like others have said the freight isn't all that cheap depending how much you buy (watch for bulky items or things heavy for their size), but I have managed to get some stuff at US clearance shops and even by the time I added freight it was less than half what it would have cost here. Plus as it is being sent overseas, don't have to pay the local US taxes either. I'm impatiently waiting for some maternity patterns and fabric and an amazon books order to arrive (should be any day now) so I can get them shipped here. Why does three weeks seem so long lol, I used to wait 6-10 weeks for amazon to ship direct and now I am spoiled...

I've been able to pay for everything on Visa. Have only found one website where I couldn't as my address on credit card didn't match shipping address. Ok she got back to me. She used to used aramex shop and ship and she said that she thinks DHL does a similar thing now and it is cheaper.   Hope this helps.

I know what you mean about things being so much cheaper over there. I am really missing the shopping. I am like ebenizer scrouge whilst shopping grumbling at the cost of things. I depends what you want to buy, I guess. I bought a cross-stitch kit recently that wasn't available in New Zealand from an American website - they just took my credit card details and sent it over, all up it was very affordable (cheaper than similar kits in NZ). Hi there

Just moved back from the states. The first thing I would try and do is get a paypal account as they very rarely accept credit cards from overseas and definately do not give out bank account numbers like everyone on trademe. There is a company that our friends used to use that recieves parcels and then forwards them on to you for when they don't send outside the usa. (we used to live in saudi and buy things from the us).
