It does depend on the size of you bub. My little girl is 1 in a few weeks and still fits the smalls (she is not quite 7kg).

I put my 4kg baby straigh into mediums and they were fine - still room for them to be tighter even. I agree with splitting the sizes. My DS is still in smalls, and will be for a wee bit longer. I have bought a few mediums for later on but they dont fit yet. You can split the sizes in the bakers dozen and get some smalls and some mediums (I only got 4 smalls). Would entirely depend on the size of your bub. They do overlap quite a bit with the snaps so a smaller bub can go into them ok at a smaller size. My son wasn't out of smalls til around the 7kg mark which was 9 months I think but I did have him in some meds before then.

Do you know what weights you & DH/DP were born? I've found birth weights are some what genetic.
