DS was exactly the same, he was 58.5cm long at birth and 9lb 13oz but at times it felt like all the other July / coffee group babies were growing loads and he was on the slim side but I think cos he was a bigger lad to begin with and fully BF'd that he didnt pile on the weight and was never a chubba bubba but was perfectly healthy and a rather solid / tall boy.

I'm pretty certain it's double birth weight by 6 months and triple by 12 months. I've heard double by 6 months. DD is a way off doubling hers and she's 4 months.

I wouldn't worry, DD was a super gainer would consistently gain 300+ gms every week, now she hasn't really grown since she was 6mnths old, seriously she still fits 3-6mth clothes at 9.5months. I really wouldn't stress. What about some of the homeopathic stuff you can take to boost your supply? How often do you feed? Can you increase to 2 hourly or something like that during the day and see if that boosts things?

That is really hard when he won't take a bottle and he's not gaining weight. But two lots of 4 hours sounds promising so maybe something has clicked and I bet the extra rest for you will also help.

Jake did something similiar, I took him to the paed who said its normal for the growth to slow down or speed up at this time. Basically their size at birth is influenced by you as well as genetics (ie GD, PE or nutrients not being passed properly from mum to baby etc) so if this is the case their genetics take over and they sort of sort themselves out to what they are supposed to be.... In jakes case he went from the 75th percantile to the 15th for length.

He went from tall to short over a couple of months..

Jake also went on a boobie strike when my supply settled, It was suggested by plunket that I top up with formula or considering expressing and bottle feeding EBM... I did neither, kept on with the BF and Jake learnt to feed with the new flow...

I personally would take him to a paed if you are worried.... Not sure what the waiting list is like in your area...

There's a big growth spurt at 4mths (approx). And I know you just said thay he's not gaining weight, but it could be why you suddenly feel that you've got supply issues.
I mean I'm trying to say, maybe you're just fine and he appears to be hungry all the time because that's what a growth spurt looks like. pleasedont panic or worry... the plunket charts dont really take fully breastfed babies into consideration. none of mine followed the rules and have turned out well... You might find that he is starting to level out a bit given that he is such a big baby even though he hasn't gained much weight he still has gained some. Try not to worry about it! Ok, so plunket came and weighed Jamie today and he's only put on 12g in over a month and nothing in length.

He's a big boy but has dropped down to the 75th percentile for weight and back down from off the chart, down to the 97th for height.

We've really had a tough month with my supply issues, and getting him to sleep was a nightmare, and then he would wake 1-2 hours later screaming in hunger.

Have tried topping him up, and that's not something I am willing to do now, as he refuses. People say 'make him' but I can't!
