    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=18936">kiwikid</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 33020<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 26 April 2010 at 8:32pm<br /><br />Like the other's have said, try not to worry xx <br /><br />DS was exactly the same, he was 58.5cm long at birth and 9lb 13oz but at times it felt like all the other July / coffee group babies were growing loads and he was on the slim side but I think cos he was a bigger lad to begin with and fully BF'd that he didnt pile on the weight and was never a chubba bubba but was perfectly healthy and a rather solid / tall boy.<br /><br />I think from about 3/4 mths their trajectory on the growth graphs slows a little bit but over time should follow the same kind of line, keep an eye on it over the next 3mths to see if he maintains the same sort of growth.  ]]>

How often do you feed?  Can you increase to 2 hourly or something like that during the day and see if that boosts things? <br /><br />That is really hard when he won't take a bottle and he's not gaining weight.  But two lots of 4 hours sounds promising so maybe something has clicked and I bet the extra rest for you will also help.<br /><br />Did plunket suggest solids?  ]]>

Basically their size at birth is influenced by you as well as genetics (ie GD, PE or nutrients not being passed properly from mum to baby etc) so if this is the case their genetics take over and they sort of sort themselves out to what they are supposed to be.... In jakes case he went from the 75th percantile to the 15th for length. <br /><br />He went from tall to short over a couple of months..<br /><br />Jake also went on a boobie strike when my supply settled, It was suggested by plunket that I top up with formula or considering expressing and bottle feeding EBM... I did neither, kept on with the BF and Jake learnt to feed with the new flow...<br /><br />I personally would take him to a paed if you are worried.... Not sure what the waiting list is like in your area... <br /><br />Hugs, Plunket can sure freak you out!]]>

People say 'make him' but I can't!<br /><br />So anyway, just a rant really.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Hoping we have turned a corner though as he slept two lots of 4 hours last night.]]>
