The strength of the wee, and especially while teething can be an issue on bamboo. I would suggest to always rinse the nappies immediately after use if your baby is teething and you are using bamboo and wash regularly. This has happened to others with other bamboo nappy brands, so we know it is not just an issue with itti bitti.

I would only Napisan if absolutely needed, the sun will get out most staining. I wouldn't recommend soaking minky in napisan, so if you were going to do itti bitti SIO's, then just soak the inners.

What is nappy san baby care?? Is it different to normal nappy san??

I do a rinse cycle first then wash with ecostore powder. They seem to come up nice and clean and smelling good. Try popping in a splash of white vinegar and if you want, a drop of two of essential oils. The vinegar helps get rid of stains and is anti bacterial. I use Amolin liquid, and I don't get any smells. I use ecostore with our nappies, haven't noticed anything noticeably bad happen (have a couple of itti bittis)
Argh the smell - it's hideous at times.. basically I have been doing soak for 4 hours in napisan then rinse.. then hot wash, then another rinse and out in sun for the day.

Yeah I'm using itti bittis too and its that build up of smell that i"m trying to get rid of. Soap nuts are fantastic but they do leave a smell and the stains aren't removed. With it getting less sunny that mean stained nappies.
Hmm itti bitti are a natural fibre so maybe the eco isn't good for them.
More advice please.

I was using soap nuts too, but find the nappies get a bit smelly - and I strip them but they didnt seem to smell nice for long.
Im now using Ecostore powder and they smell great - but am i causing damage do you think? Be careful with the eco store laundry as it isn't very gentle on natural fabrics like bamboo.
