I suppose they just have it as a general warning, on the website it doesn't mention it... Just mentions about other so called 'miracle blankets' not being designed properly.

oooh bugger i never knew that! I got mine off trade me so didnt come with instructions.

baylee is only in hers overnight but thats 10-12 hours at a time, during the day i use muslin wraps..... hope im not doing any damage?

oh well time to buy a new wrap anyway. Yep, it's developmental. I saw it and panicked for a night "OMG, he's so going to have weird arm dvelopment" and then chilled out! How interesting, I dont recall seeing that a few yrs ago when we used ours. DS did 2 x 2hr naps everyday and about 10hrs overnight in his and has had no issues!! I wouldnt wrap him during awake time of course.

I honestly don't remember seeing that on the instruction leaflet. Maybe it's a new thing? It's been over a year since I bought mine.

It's just for the miracle blanket, but then again the miracle blanket claims to have some sort of abdominal pressure to stop fussiness and encourage sleep so that could have something to do with it.

We didn't use a miracle blanket but our DS was swaddled for every sleep for about 7 mths. No one said it was bad to have him wrapped up so much.

Surely the warning should be elsewhere too?

Hmm, Im not sure? Babies sleep for a lot longer than 10 hours per day in total. Hunter can wiggle out of his miracle wrap and I think his sleeping bag is getting too small too. So I'm assuming that they don't want you to swaddle ur baby for more than 10hours a day even if using a different type of blanket? Sorry pretty obvious question but just thought I'd confirm with others opinions.

OMG I never knew that! We used our miracle blanket for all sleeps from day one through til about 5 months old. That's for 2 x 2 hour day naps & 12 hrs overnight! Even when we got Daniel up for his dreamfeed we still left him wrapped. Maybe because it is so confined and the 'odours' tend to stay in? Isabella used to do 11-12 hours over night wrapped up and in the morning she was just have a huge stretch(looked so cute)! We used miracle wraps too as she was a houdine! I have Jasper in his overnight - so for 12 hrs i guess and don't unwrap him in that time. i agree... it's hard not to wrap a little one for that long.. I'm not an expert by any means but I've got a miracle blanket too and I don't think it's anymore than a general instruction really....
I doubt it's going to kill a baby to be in it 11 or 12 hours IYKWIM!
I think it's more important not to wrap them for longer than 8 or so hours as they do need to stretch their arms and legs just like an adult!

Hi just wondering if anyone knows why it says to not use the for more than 10hours in a 24hour period?

DD still gets wrapped using normal cotton wraps IYGWIM, but we use the Miracle Blanket at night (no more than 10 hours!). However during the day she ALWAYS unwraps herself no matter how tight we make it. So she always wakes her self up. So was just wondering if anyone knew why it's no more than 10 hours...

ETA: This is the Miracle Blanket I am referring to.
