Will probably have them with creamy mashed potatoes and veg.<br /><br />For those crockpotting, do you brown the meat etc? To me the whole point of a crock pot is that you throw things in and it cooks them for you... have no time to be browning, transferring, doing dishes after.]]>

I can only fit 4 small-medium shanks in so we only get one each, they are sooo yum though, I always end up wanting more!!!<br /><br />Tomorrow night is a 'get your own' kind of dinner for the menfolk cos I'm not home Thursday nights hehe Its my one night a week break from cooking since we cant afford takeaways for all of us!<br /><br />I dont defrost in the microwave either as it leaves it semi cooked on the outside by the time the inside is defrosted... and then by the time the inside is cooked properly, the outside is way overdone... so we get it out the night before, or if we forget, before I take DS to school]]>

And I think Maggi does cook in the pot sachets as well!<br /><br />I use the juice out of the tin of apricots instead of apricot nectar as I can't find the nectar in the supermarket here. Better safe than sorry I think ]]>

I generally just use bread instead of pastry, easier and healthier.  kinda like a toasted sandwich with lots of filling really]]>

If it is mince or sausages I usually defrost it in the sink with warm water.]]>

Or with your stirfry beef try a black pepper beef stirfry, I add a pack of udon noodles (but any noodles would do) carrots, red pepper, Kai lan or bok choy and baby corn and make 200gm beef feed 3 adults :)]]>
