We originally had the feeding chair in DHs room, but recently moved it into our room. I use it in the evening to feed him, and its nice to sit on and rock if hes unsettled.

You will figure out where works for you and once the night feeds are over you might want to move it. For us going downstairs/upstairs is a bad idea, there are 4 generations in our house and my grandparents have the upstairs area where the lounge is and they never turn the lights off at night (in case they fall/trip) and the stairs squeak so when I did try it, she thought it was day time which = play time after a feed!!

When I was in the hospital to help my milk come in the taught me how to feed in bed, but I always find I am aware of myself and her so I don't roll on her although I have never tried to sleep with her in bed with me at home. But we fed like that in the beginning.

I find it's just a whole lot easier to keep her 'sleepy' at her night feed so she doesn't wake up, IYGWIM, she lets me know when she wants a feed and being in our room I just get her out of her bassinet and feed her with me in bed sitting up.

When Isla was in our room in her bassinette (only first 3wks as she outgrew it so fast!), I would just sit up in bed and feed her but when she moved into her own room, I'd get up and go into the lounge so I didn't disturb DF. Plus, her change table isin the lounge.I never watch TV, day or night cause I'm just not a TV person. I would just sit on the couch with the light on dim. She has always gone straight back to sleep after night feeds. She now sleeps through but I always just sit on the couch in the lounge to feed her and it's comfy

I personally preferred going to another room to feed her rather than feeding in bed cause I was always afraid I'd fall asleep and drop her or roll on her. LOL Hope2Be so true, it does get a bit lonely at times!

I started off doing all off DD's feeds in her room, but she slept in our bedroom next door in the bassinet so not too hard to transfer her. I ended up buying a portable stereo for her room so I could put on it on a talkback station for her middle of the night feeds. Her day feeds are always in the lounge and her last feed of the day is in our bedroom. I feed lying down in bed as we co-sleep

I personally would find it a pain to get up and go downstairs to feed.
With DD when she went into her own room @ 7 mnths I was lent chair and fed her on that @ night. Although I am luck y and DH can sleep through anything so isn't disturbed.

If bubs is going to be in your room and the chair will fit, put it in your room .

I fed Callum in the lounge when he was still feeding in the night, but we lived in a different house -all one level.

This time round we're in a new place and the bedrooms are upstairs and theliving room is downstairs, so I won't be coming down here to feed in the night if I can help it!

In our case, I fed C in bed in the early days but after a while I switched to the lounge so that I didn't wake DH every time. I used to read OB because the light from the laptop screen helped me stay awake and also I needed to see to latch C on

If I were you I'd put your chair in the lounge for now, so you can feed during the day, and give feeding in bed a go if you think that will work for you. I would hate to have to go downstairs to feed bubs. It's hard enough getting up several times for feeds without adding in the extra time it takes to get to the lounge. But thats just me. The less moving from room to room the better.

I personally would hate having to go downstairs, feed bubba and then come upstairs again to settle the baby.

What I do is feed him wherever DP's dad can't see me (computer chair usually, handy for OB

) and then at night when he wakes up he comes into our bed so I can just latch him on and go to sleep. Makes me kinda feel like a dog, lying there with my "puppy" attached, but it means I get more sleep and don't have to try to resettle him in his cot at 4am

Yes, probably! From my perspective, that is. I did a similar thing with my eldest and decided not to repeat the experience with my second baby, I either feed her in a chair in her room or sometimes we co-sleep so I just feed her lying down in bed. Awesome, thanks guys! I guess it seems that there are a bunch of different places where I could feed bubs and I guess I won't know what works until they arrive!

At first Jake was in our room at night (first 3 months) and I just fed in bed lying down... then when he moved to his room on the single bed in his room...

During the day has always been on the sofa

In the early days I needed light to see to get her latched on so in the living room. Often with the TV on, it didn't worry her but it did make me quite wide awake. As she got older I'd feed her lying down (semi-snoozing) in the bed next to her cot.

To start with I did the night feeds in our room in our bed, now I do them in E's room in a chair I have squeezed in there.

During the day it's where ever but mostly on the couch.

If the chair wouldn't fit into E's room I would've taken out her drawers and put them in another room as it dosn't matter where her clothes are but it's easier to feed her in her room as the less moving about the better for both of us. I feed whereever.

At night it was generally in our bed lying down once I got the hang of it I would doze off. In the first few days DP was awake with me most of the time too which was nice. Sometimes I would feed on the spare bed next to the cot or on the couch, but generally our bed

During the day I fed where every. i always feed day and night in the lounge.. with TV on.. i love mysky:) but it's mostly to keep me awake.. Liam wakes once and feeds for 20mins and back to sleep so he doesn't seem to have issues with it(and it's 42inch so massive )!:)

I BF where ever too. When we bought our chair we put it in Jacksons room for night feeds. He went straight into his own room so it was needed in there

I breast feed where ever, but mainly on the couch in Lily's room during the day or on the bed in our room (she sleep with us at night).

In the early days at night I would go to her room but bare in mind, doors/floors squeaking will wake baby! Which then made it hard for her to go back to sleep!

Those chairs are nice though aren't they!!

Sometimes during the day I have the tv going but I don't usually watch it because I just focus on her... I used to feed #1 in our room at night but it disturbed DH's sleep a lot, so this time with #2 I come into the lounge where I also have the change table set up. I use a dim light and find the tv too distracting for baby, espcecially now hes a bit older. I breastfed wherever, really.
During the night I came into the lounge as the couch was more comfortable that propping up in bed (and disturbing DH).
During the day was usually in the lounge, but sometimes lying in bed, on the deck if it was sunny (with a cloth over Hannah),

You can always try the chair in one room, then move it if you wish. But, if I had a spcific chair for it, I'd put it in the lounge.

Baby is still in our room at the moment, so I just prop myself up on pillows in bed and feed him there. I don't put a light on or watch TV at all at night.

During the day, I feed him in the lounge while watching TV or sitting on the computer.

If you go away to a seperate room to feed everytime you need to you'll get very lonely.

So I splashed out yesterday and bought a breastfeeding chair from The Baby Factory but I can't decide where to put it!!!!

My options are:
a) upstairs in the spare room (which is one room over from the baby room and two rooms over from our room) - unfortunately it won't fit in the baby room
OR
b) downstairs in the lounge

I have no idea where I will do the majority of my breastfeeding and whether it would be annoying to come downstairs for the night feeds. However will I want to maybe watch tv while I breastfeed or no?

At this stage we are planning on having bubs in our room initially and then we will move him/her into the baby room.
