In the Littlies Pregnancy Guide mag it has a guide to recommended weight gain depending on pre-preg BMI.
Low ( BMI less than 19.8)- 12.5-18kgs
Normal (BMI 19.8 to 26 ) - 11.5- 16kg
High (BMI 26-29)- 7.0-11.5kg

My BMI was 20.8 so I take that as meaning up to 18 kgs is ok! This one i lost about 3 kgs and now have put on 3kgs since pre pregnancy weight. I have only put on around tummy (which I reckon I am huge) My midwife measures around my tummy each visit and last week I was 98cm. Looked in a baby diary I kept with baby no 2 - Brooke - and I was only 97cm at 35 weeks so I now know I was much bigger (although pre pregnancy weigh I was about 10 kgs heavier this time around as well)
