The doctor suspected but the scan confirmed the right ovary is full of cysts, more than 12 the scan guy said, he did count after that.

This must be why we had problems concieving DS1 took us over 4 yeras to naturally fall preggies and 6 months with Ds2.

I think we will try for another sooner rather than later, i'm 30 now was going to wait till 34 or 35 but won't now.

Will get a few books out on it.
For obvious reasons, quite a few of us who post / used to post in the infertility section have it. In my case, I didn't get any of the 'standard' symptoms really, just ovaries full of cysts which mean I don't ovulate.

There are books in our library on it, if you were interested (I'm sure most libraries have them). I only found them partially helpful, because a lot of them focussed on symptoms I didn't have and I found I was just reading a chapter or so from each. It does seem to affect different people in different ways.

I would imagine, that with one complication already age wouldnt be helping if you look at the stats. At my scan way back them my ovaries were just a black mass from all the cysts so perhaps they thought it would progress. TBH I didnt pay alot of attention then .
I imagine everyone is different though, and it cant be that bad, I have concieved within 3 months with each child so far, and Im 33 now
I did once see a specialist when I was thinking about freezing some healthy eggs, just in case, and they did try me on metformin to see if that helped with balancing hormones/insulin and ovulation I think, but that was 6 years ago and I hated the smell so flagged it
Sorry Im not much help, Im a bit whatever will be

I found after being on the pill for ages my cycle was much better and even more so since having my first child, although Im very sensitive to which pill I can take and had trouble finding one that didnt make my periods hell, and yeah I just have to look at the wrong food and gain weight!

Edited by Raspberryjam

It sucks! lol unfortunately the only way to manage it is to be on the pill and we're TTC #3. It's currently been almost 3 months since my last period. I feel so bloated and awful!

It's not too big of a deal. I was told just to watch my diet as it can bring a higher chance of weight gain and diabetes. Of course it is also one of the leading causes of infertility in women :( So like others we were told to try for a family sooner rather than later. Our twins were a woopsie but I'm now grateful as I would have waited till around 30 otherwise and it may have been a struggle. So now we are making a point of trying for our third and final while I'm still only in my mid 20's.
