Definitely get it checked. It could be something very simple, like a sprain, but worth having it checked. I take my son every time he has a limp these days because he refused to walk as a one year old and we discovered he had a bone infection and couldn't physically walk until it was gone. Probably she is a bit nervous about it if she hurt her foot. I'd definitely get it checked out by your GP. Yesterday I picked my 2 1/2 y/o up from daycare and the teachers told me that she had been complaining of a sore toe. She was refusing to walk, and wouldn't let anyone near her foot. They at first said that they thought that her toe nail had gotten caught on her sock when she was sleeping, and her toe had bent back.
We took her home, checked her foot and leg, and everything seems fine to us. No swelling, no bruising, nothing. We can manuever her foot and toes in any direction and nothing seems to bother her...until...she goes to walk.
She won't walk by herself anymore, will occasionally let us hold her hand and walk a small distance, limping, but then she's back to crawling again.
This morning I was told that she had also fallen over in group time and that this may have been when she hurt her leg. I thought it may have just been psychological, and she might just be scared, but Im now concerned that she may have done some damage.
