Well we phoned the tribunal, we are in the right, they cant ask us to leave, fixed term contract cant be ended unless we agree.

AND Text is NOT a form of written notice, neither is an email. So we are fine. Yeah I would ring the tribunal and see if that is ok. If they say it is and you are on a periodic tenancy - find a new place asap. Even thou they have to give you 42 days notice, get out now.

Depends how the landlord is ending the fixed term contract. My landlord informed me of a rent increase by txt, i told her she heeded to give me 60 days written notice and she said ok i will send a letter but the notice starts from the day she txt me not the day i got the letter. She usually txts me about stuff as well.
