O has gone on apple strike. Going to try him on maybe potato or carrot tomorrow. See how he goes.

Had O's 5 month jabs today. He coped really well. My little star. Had a wee painful grizzle when he got up bout 5, but gave him cuddles and boob and he was all good. Went back to bed and is happily fast asleep. fx it lasts.

Happy 6 months L.

Way to go Isla. Thats awesome.

My mum works for New World and they had a competition making the fruit/vege musical instruments and she made a coconut/carrot thing (lol) and she won a longboard. She bought it round to show me and we had O sitting on it having a ride. Got some pics so will put a couple up on FB soon. Was very cute. Also I seem to have got myself a sore throat. Damn thing. Wish it wouold go away. Feel like crap at night and first thing. I dislike being sick. First time all winter though, so am grateful for that. I am usually the one who is always sick. Guess that is the great thing about being a sahm.

Off to check on my boring dinner. Sucks having to cook. I envy you ladies with hubbys/partners at home at night.

Mornign if eed her first thing, after 1st nap i wait till round 11am, then in the arvo usually around 2.30, then nite anytime between 5.30 and 7pm depending on her mood (that is the solids feed). BF usually 9.30am, 12.30, 4.30pm and then bottle 8.30pm. i know they meant to get milk first tho at this age, and i think in L's case if he has been losing some weight it prob is best for him to fill up on milk as it is much more fatty.
One thing i did to help E sit was lots of practice her sitting with my legs around her at a wee distance as bumpers, and a toy on each knee that she liked to reach for. anytime she would fall over she would just rest against the knee bumpers, every day she needed the bumpers less.
Had a fun day! took E over to the park and showed her some different trees and she touched the leaves, then she had her 1st swing (on my knee). Tried a new thing with the apple (as she loves sucking, licking and trying to bit emy apple when i eat it) so i chewed it abit then put it in her mouth, lots of NAM NAM noises and figuring out the texture, think it was a winner!

Faffer I have a sneaky suspicion that it's not hormonal and I have just gotten soft!

Sending all my thoughts in your, and your families, way. I realise there probably isn't anything much I can do from here, but if there is anything at all x.

I just sent a message on FB to those of you who missed my update the other day, so you're not left wondering what happened with A. Such a relief!

But then, today, more drama. We have never seen so many doctors as since A was born, she's having such a tough time of it. She had to try soy milk before she was allowed to be prescribed the neocate alternative thing (I don't think neocate is funded anymore). So today, I mixed 3TBSP of soy formula with her farex. And she came out in massive massive hives, everywhere. Her face and hands were so covered there was no white skin. She was in unbearable pain too, so so itchy. Screaming. She's now on oral steriods and antihistimine, but the hives haven't gone anywhere yet. And her eczema has flared up badly. Her legs are so so sore. Allergies SUCK.

Right, best get back to A. DH is feeding her dinner (safe foods, Kumara and pear, her allowed foods list is seriously small) but I can hear her getting angsty. Her poor mouth seems to be sore as well.

SOrry for the recent lack of anything but me posts, promise to do a proper read through soon! x.

Yay for only waking 2x in the nite now must make a big difference to you! and yea once they have solids more regularly the more they poo, i wonder if it regulates again later like in the beginning, we went from poo every nappy change to once every few days. I do have some emotional patches, not too dramatic, but was wondering if because i have dropped a feed that PMT and the 501 might come back, might be the same for you too, when dropping feeds your bosy will be adjusting hormonally. also, weird fact, did you know that as baby takes less milk the bodsy makes the BM more concentrated with the good stuff?? pretty cool eh!
Really hope that you have got some good support around you.

Isabella I love the ceramics idea! Very cool. I was joking to DH about doing one for my dad, but with my hand prints on it That's awesome that you are enjoying your job so much, so glad you have been able to make it work so well for you and S.

Hayz how is I's rash, hopefully the Dr sorted it out for you. Funny about you stalking the labour ward again I reckon you'd make a good MW because you are so interested in the whole process. I was thinking I wouldn't mind being one of the nurses on the maternity wards, lots of new mums and bubs around, although there were some people in hospital at the same time as me with some really sad stories, so maybe not.

CJ, that's great that E is sitting so well. You must be so proud of the way she is meeting all these milestones! Is there anyway that you can be more relaxed about here sleeping? It might help on those days if you can just focus on something else, or is E super grumpy when she misses a sleep?

FB so glad to here you are feeling better and that solids are going well. That sleep position sounds like us too, except the arm under the head, I kind of wedge my arm between the two of us.

Anna good to here that L is on the mend - sounds like you have been working hard to help her recover. Hopefully you will both be 100% very soon. Your PIL will be blown away by all the changes in her over 3 months eh?

Thmprs, sorry to here you have all been sick as well. Not fun on your holidays.

Ange yay for O eating apples and enjoying them!

Ceres glad A is fine and you are ok, good luck with the loto tonight

AFM Were good. Quinn is sleeping better day and night, although he is consistently waking at three hour intervals now. But that means that I am only getting up twice a night to him instead of 4 or more so I am happy. He is rolling all over the place too, nothing is safe any more. We need to get baby proofing here. Also we are doing three solid meals a day - and he is doing so well on them now. But he has started pooing more again ! There not that bad really, just means that we are going through quite a few nappy changes, little toad!

Has anyone else been more emotional lately? I have been way more sappy than usual, getting teary over tv, news stories, other peoples baby stories... it's awful. It's not as bad as just after Q was born, but it's a bit embarassing!

She still coughed heaps last night but any improvement is a good sign. I think I owe it to the vaporizer, some people swore by it and I really think it has been the turn around. I have it going in her room all night and all day I carry it around with me so in lunge if she is playing or other lunge if she is napping (has port a cot for day sleeps)

Hayz a wed works for me too, just wondering if next wed may be a bit soon to pass on anything. I guess thats 5 days away and if we still sick we can just pull out last minute. Cant remember what days FB was free. And all those wee babies are behaving. have been to read back yet on what been happening.

I love going on holiday but i really miss not reading OB then when i do come on i have missed so many pages it hard to catch up.

We had a nice time in Taupo with mum, my bro & SIL. Wasnt as cold as i expected so that was a bonus. Now we are home at mums.

But Me & DH are both sick with colds. Good being home having mum to cook us dinner.. ha ha

Poor Lucas is sick as well, actually had to take him to the after hours the other night. And the poor thing has got croup. He sounds like a wee seal. But he is happy enough so that is a bonus, although he not eating or drinking as much.

Dr we saw was really good & gave him a dose of steroids which he said should make him better. But he was good & even rang the hospital Peds Registar to check it was ok to give it to him.

Think he got a bit of his appetitte back today though cause he liked the banana & mango baby food, and had pumpkin & sweetcorn for dinner so fingers crossed he on the up

Now for mum to get better too before i have to go back to work on monday.

Sorry girls this turned into a ME post
