I did Gina Ford - worked for us. I loosely followed Babywise... well... I described my routine to a lady and she said it was similar.

Basically, feeding every three hours (counting from the start of one feed to the start of the next), not letting Han go past 4 hours between feeds (as had trouble with "catch up feeding") and ermmmm... bedtime routine which consisted of a bath. I got the Gina Ford book. I like the idea of routines myself, but I know that lots of childcare professionals don't like her approach at all. I have heard lots of parents swear by it though. Hrmmmm... lots of them... a few have been mentioned along the way. Do a search on google to find some.

But ones that I can think of off the top of my head are...

"On becoming babywise" (Or something like that)
and
"The Contended Little Baby" (ask aimeejoy about that one)

They are all pretty similar. I think.

I have been reading a bit about routines here and it seems to be something that I should be informed about - so I was wondering if there are any good books out there on routines, particularly the ones that establish sleep patterns etc that I could read before baby arrives so that I am not trying to study up on what to do with a tiny baby on my hands?
