    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=425">mum2paris</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 3415<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 10 August 2006 at 10:07pm<br /><br />I think it also depends on if it seals itself or contiues to leak - if there is plenty of fliud and it isn't leaking they might just monitor her.<br /><br />Everyone is different as well and alot of midwives/ob-gyns work differently as well so each person will have different experiences. <br /><br />With Paris my waters broke 5am, contractions started 6am, fully dilated 9.15am born 11.07am, 38.5 weeks,<br />With Ayja, contractions started 1am, waters broken for me at 4.15am (7cm) fully dilated 4.25am, Born 4.35am, just under 38 weeks.<br />]]>

So like the others said, if she has 4 weeks to go, they'll probably leave it until 38 weeks before they induce (unless she goes into labour naturally.)]]>

They tend to treat with antibiotics after 24 hours and you get to stay in hospital for the duration though...]]>

I had to go into hospital because of the risk of infection to get some antibiotics, and Stevie is right - they don't normally leave it for more than 24 hours.]]>
