So its handy to take a plastic bag (or recyclable bag) to chuck stuff in for extra bag space. and when on a plane, you have to have 1 carry on per person, but you can carry off as many as you like.<br />I'm sure there are shops where you're going, so if you forget a few small things, its a good excuse to go shopping <br /><img border="0" src="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0"> ]]>

I flew with Clodagh by myself and took carseat, Mountain buggy, portable cot plus of course suitcase etc. I just BF her on take off and landing and the rest of the time she just had a good look around and stood on my lap to look at the ppl behind us lol. <IMG src="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0"></P><P>If you need a hand then just ask.     <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=20626">SpecialK </a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 34253<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 25 June 2010 at 7:34am<br /><br />I've taken H on a few flights, always with Air NZ. <br /><br />Main things for us:<br /><br />Make sure flight is not over sleep time (he won't sleep unless in a cot/pram).<br />Have a really well packed nappy bag.<br />Give her a drink/BF/bottle on take off and landing. <br />Don't try and spoon feed on the plane or airport - far too exciting - have finger food instead. <br />Have a few fave toys on hand or whatever she really likes in case she gets upset. <br />A decent baby carrier unless she is a good walker. <br />Luggage - we always take the buggy and the carseat with us, at check in you can ask to have them put in big plastic bags which helps protect them. <br />]]>

Don't forget that Kate has her own baggage allowance (checked on luggage and carry-on), but in saying that, I found just one carry-on is best if you're the only one going on with her.  <br />Keep the carry-on bag under the seat in front of you rather than putting it into the overhead cabin - better access!<br />If you can get her to sleep for at least half of it, it really helps!  And have a selection of toys or books that you can use to distract her if she starts getting antsy.<br />Campbell got given a Chupachup lollipop (his first!) just before descent when we flew back from Wellington a few weeks ago - even if he didn't need it for his ears, it really helped to distract him from wanting to move around.<br />Ummm... that's all I can think of right now.
