Author: SarahG
Subject: 34475
Posted: 03 July 2010 at 8:34pm

Hi Delli,

The first thing everyone will tell you, is that every pregnancy is different. Whilst it sounds a bit lame, it is true. I've had 3 pregnancies to term (well I'm 29 weeks pregnant with number 3 at the moment) and each one is unique. I had dreadful MS with no 1, moderate MS with no 2 and almost none with no 3. Now the first 2 were girls and this one is a boy and I can honestly say that this pregnancy is about as opposite as you can get. So maybe you're having a baby of the opposite sex which is accounting for your lack of MS.

Worrying is normal and useful to some extent and I'm sure you'll be more relieved after your 12 week scan and you can actually see the heartbeat and the baby, but try not to over-examine everything. It really has no good outcome and is very time-consuming. Take it from someone who's been there many times before. And I know it's easy to say and not to do, but try to relax and enjoy this lack of MS. Not having MS is not a predictor or and indicator of a non-viable pregnancy, just a different baby at a different time in your life.

I hope this helps.

Edited by sarah1975

    Author: Delli
Subject: 34475
Posted: 03 July 2010 at 8:22pm

Last pregnancy by this stage I was feeling pretty rubbish - just wanted to sleep the day away as when I was sleeping at least I didn't know that I was feeling nauseas! I also couldn't stand the smell of chilli and garlic or cooking meat. It wasn't super bad MS and I didn't spew much but this pregnancy I feel fine except being a bit tireder and hungrier than usual. It's not that I WANT morning sickness - it's just the lack of it is starting to worry me a wee bit about the possibility of miscarriage. Not worrying a huge amount but just got a little while until my 12 week scan to verify that there is something there. Probably a bit of an irrational fear as I know there are people that don't get MS at all and there is still plenty of time for me to get it - its just that it's a bit different to my first pregnancy, thats all.

Has anyone else had MS for one of their pregnancies and not the other?

Edited by Delli
