The Palmers stuff seems to be doing the trick as I haven't really had much itchyness of late, just one day so I applied more moisturiser. Hmmmm I have to improve in my water intake as I'm really slack and this probably doesn't help.
Thanks for all your replies.
Rubyrose best wishes for your labour and meeting your little bubs

I know it sounds hard but try giving it a wee slap instead of itching - itching it will increase your chances of getting stretch marks (so I've been told) . I'm preggy with bub number two and have so far escaped stretch marks by using oil after showering. I used a Weleda one for bub one but am just using sweet almond oil (it's cheaper) for this one and so far so good.

I didn't end up with 1 stretch mark on my tummy - am not sure if this was down to the regular moisturising or just genetics.

Edited by monkey33

Its a strange sensation for the first time in my life I feel like I can feel my skin stretch.

Have found anything to relieve it either, apart from a good scratch.

I had the same thing and bio oil made it worse but my hubby swears by it - obviously not for pregnancy itching or stretchmarks He's a long-distance runner and it helps his skin.

Have you tried avocado oil or just smearing avocado over your belly, it's actually nicer than it sounds. Also adding fish oil into your diet could help, but hopefully it'll be transient but be prepared for periods of itching throughout your pregnancy on and off. You could go to the GP and ask for an anti-histamine like chloramphenicol which is safe in pregnancy. I had it when I had obstetric cholestasis in my last pregnancy and had the most amazingly itchy hands and feet.

Hope it doesn't drive you mad
S

I've done a search and saw that Sheza suffered something but had a rash and came right.
I don't have a rash but the itching drives me a bit up the wall, as I'm always having to pull my top up and itch heee heeee!!!
I'm using bio oil every morning and have tested not wearing it to see if it's the bio oil causing it but doesn't seem to change things.
Maybe it's just my tummy growing and stretching, the itchyness isn't in one place it's all over. Maybe I should try another cream and see if that would help. I'm just interested to see if anyone else has had this.
Thanks
