My DH pointed out that if I had broken the babies head or limbs then she would be unlikely to still be bouncing about as normal.

I am seeing my obstetrician on Tuesday so will mention it then. No point ringing him, as if I have done any damage then it is too late but at least he might be able to put my mind at rest so I don't spend the next 3 months worrying about it.

I am such a control freak I find it totally hard not knowing what's going on inside me!

Kazzam

I was forever smacking my bump on the door frame or kitchen bench! Bubs is fine

But when you start getting bigger, I found my ribs hurt a lot! Especially when bubs would stretch out. I always had to lean back in seats otherwise I got sore ribs or out of breath.

    Author: kazzam34
Subject: 34933
Posted: 28 July 2010 at 10:04am

I know this sounds totally paranoid but have been really worried about it since yesterday. I am 27 weeks pregnant and my baby moves around a lot. I get a lot of movement up by my ribs and often when I wake up in the morning there is a lump between my rib cage which I assume is the baby's head, bottom, shoulder or something. I think I am what they call carrying high.

Well, yesterday I went to sit down on quite a low seat and did so in a bit of an awkward position, sort of leaning forward at the time. The baby must have been up by my ribs because as I sat down I was in the most excruciating pain between my rib cage, almost to passing out point. I felt the area and there was the lump, so the baby must have been pushed up right against my ribs by my sitting down action.

My ribs hurt for hours afterwards. I'm not bothered about my ribs but could the baby banging in to my ribs so forcefully have caused it any damage? If it was the head banging in to my rib cage, could it have hurt or bruised the babies head for example?

For a short while afterwards there wasn't much movement, but since then all movements have been normal and baby has been jumping about as usual.

If I had hurt the baby, would there be signs? I am now worried that the baby is going to come out with a broken limb or something. My husband says the sac etc gives protection but if that was the case then why did the baby banging up against my ribs hurt so much.

Told you I was paranoid...has anyone else had anything like this. I looked on the internet and people have had similar through bending down.

Kazzam
