And the big 5kg bag of it is often on sale at the Warehouse for $15 - as it is right now!!

We tip it out into a lidded nappy bucket and only go through one bag per year!

Adore my Bosch front loader, its a 7kg I think and it fits way more than what our 7kg top loader ever did.

Love the way it heats its own water so power consumption is virtually nil and the clothes never get all out of shape (even woollens) like they do in an agitator top loader.

The shortest cycle is about 40mins - I use the next cycle up mostly (44mins) and it does a fab job!

If we had to buy another washing machine now (we've had our washer for 3yrs), I would be buying the same!

DP fixed it all he had to do was open the door and shut it again so no idea what i did wrong!

we've got a samsung front loader - one piece of crucial advice is to make sure you get the proper powder for front loaders (persil low-suds is the best) and only put in just under half a scoop per wash (the box says to put in a full scoop, but only put in a half)

I was putting in full scoops and the suds clogged the machine and the repair man told me they only need a very little amount powder

I have the fisher and paykel 7kg aquasmart. Love it!! so easy to use and heaps of cycles that you can customise, has no agitator, even has auto re balance when i am lazy and just throw everything in and it gets unbalanced it fixes itself.

we just got a samsung toploader and love it! it has lots of different cycles and is very good! i love the fact it tells you how long the wash will take. and it has a lint bit so i really like that! and it has a see thru lid which is kinda novel!!! we would have got a front loader but we were warned by the salesperson that with a frontloader they have to be on a very stable ground and as the place we are in now the laundry is on the 2nd level and it is not on stable ground we could not go with the front loader!

We have a Samsung frontloader washer/dryer. Its 7.5 kg and its AWESOME !!
SHort was is 34 mins and still washes better than our old F&P.
Its got loads of different washes wool/cotto/handwash etc. I do a cloth nap wash every day and so far its gotton out all the pooplsion stains and thats on the short wash too.

Also because its dryer you can chuck duvets/pillows and stuff in there to refresh them without having to wash them. We have the FP Aquasmart 7.5 kg and love as it has so many functions like a colour wash, blood, wine etc. It is bigger enough to put our duvet inner in it as it has no agigator and saves going down to laundromat.

I like that the front loaders are much more gentle on clothes...I would never buy a toploader for that reason.

We have Whirlpool 7.5kg front loader and I love it. It has a digital countdown on it so you can see how many minutes remaining until your wash has finished, I'd recommend a model that has this because it is cool!

Previously we had a top loader, can't remember the brand - absolutely no regrets going to a front loader, clothes come out cleaner and so much more gentle. Main drawbacks are that wash cycles are longer (but you can choose a short wash which takes 1/2 hour if you're pressed for time), and if you forget to put something in the wash you can't open the door once the cycle has started.

Neither are big enough drawbacks to put me off front loaders.

We have a Samsung 7kg Front loader, It has all sorts of different settings. It has soak and presoak (shorter soak time) has a setting for heavy duty/mixed/cotton/wool quick wash etc and you can alos customise for different heats and how quick it spins and how many rinses. It heats its own water making it quite efficient too. The door opens flat so takes up less room in a narrow laundry if you get what I mean.

Hehe sorry I'm in love with that machine, I use cloth nappies too and we got it just in time for baby.

We have a simpson frontloader about 5 years old and it is good, doesn't have a soak cycle but doesn't really matter as nappies come out fine anyway...the stains really do disappear in the sun!
I haven't found the spin to be a problem.
I think simspons are now whirlpools tho.

We've got a LG toploader with no central agitator and I love it. It's been a great machine.

We have F&P and I love it. Its an 7.5kg one and it has the soak function. Ours is the GW712 Model which we bought brand new at a bargin price and the only problem was it had a small scratch on the back

I would love the new F&P AquaSmart WM's!

We have one of the newer F & P ones without the agitator, and it took a while to get used to it, but now I have to say i love it. It has a gazillion different wash options that you choose with the electronic display - even one for jeans, and when the boys are sick we use the hygiene wash.

The white cycle makes the whites really white, and it has cycles for different stains.

I got a telman from Warehouse, the one with no agitator and I hate it!!   It tangles up the clothes so bad. I have to put it on gentle wash to stop them ending it a really bad tangled mess. It still tangles but not as much. And it bends all my underwires even in a laundry bag, and often snaps them!!

had them out to look at it but says its normal. So stay away from that one, not sure about other ones with no agitator but i wish i never got this one but am stuck with it now.

We bought an 8kg electrolux front loader before baby, LOVE it only new thing we bought and soooo worth it, t does everything except hang the clothes out when its done hehe. I love my Whirlpool front loader, it heats it's own water and I always do a warm to hot wash. I can wash the MCNs at 40C or 60C which I like. Agree with Sabrina, don't get anything smaller than a 6 or 7kg, otherwise they hold pretty much nothing! Get one that holds at least 7kg. Anything smaller is a pain in the bum, especially for big loads with kids.

We have a F & P and i quite like it, its nearly 8 yrs old now though, so i dont know about there new models

Definitely get one with soak opition. I use it all the time for cloth. I have an Elba, (mainly got it because I love the ads) but it's a really good washing machine, before it we had a simpson which lasted about 10 years and recently 'died' but my granddad managed to fix it. Simpson is meant to be a good brand though.

I have a fisher and paykel and hate it. It used to be a good brand but lately I am not so sure. It leaves lint all over my clothes and has no filter. It has also broken down twice but it was second hand so I can't fault that really.   After being overseas and having different brands I will definately be looking for a different brand with my next one. First and foremost will be a lint filter. Nothing like doing a dark wash and it coming out covered in the previous white washes lint.   I am thinking a front loader for my next machine and have looked at lg and bosch and also electrolux. So our washing machine is broken and we need a new one. I have no idea what to look for!!! only thing i think would be handy is soaking feature (like the machine fills up then starts after a couple of hours soaking)

Mum said to go with Fisher & Paykel but im not sure (our current one is Fisher & Paykel but only because its mums old one) i like our current machine but there seems to be a lot out there

Hopefully I will have a baby soon and will be using cloth nappies so is there any features that would be good for washing them?
