I use Mary Kay The lady came to my house and matched it to me, so we used fake light and I also got to see it in my own mirror where I'd normally do my makeup, then look at it in normal light too.

I also have a powder but don't really use it.... Lazy! I should pull it out and try it again.

It makes my rosacea less obvious but when I really want a good cover I put concealer on where I get rosacea before brushing on the mineral powder - that works well and means the rest of my face isn't getting clogged with heavy makeup.

Green concealer is especially designed to cover redness but I haven't tried it under mineral powder, I might buy some.

I get quite red and have sensitive skin and have found mineral powders really good, I like both the Revlon one and the ID one.

moisture mist user here..

i use it with a wet sponge.. great coverage and does not dry out during the day..

i use a little bronzing power over the top for some added glam too..

To OP , I would definetly suggest finding out what skin type you are first, and what kind of coverage you are after, whether you want a more dewy finish , or a long wearing , or a matte finish, and depending what your skin type is, some of the foundations mentioned may or may not work for your skin tone , eg, if you have dry skin , then a matte finish or powder foundation will make it appear drier

I've been using mineral powder (different brands) for the past 18 mths and I really like it. I use a concealer under my eyes first then brush on the powder and voilà c'est Bella!

The thing I like best about mineral powder is it doesn't go caked or flakey when it wears off.

Previously I used revlon colourstay for years. I get mild rosacea near my jaw line and so colourstay is good because it has a bit of green in the base which covers redness (but don't worry, it's just a hint... OK I nearly didn't reply to this cos I'm not trying to make a political statement! 

.....*but* when I can be bothered I use Innoxa or Natio tinted mositurisers. Many of the rest of the brands are tested on animals which is a no-go for me.  

Sometimes I just use a cruelty-free coverstick, but more often than not I just moisturise and slap on a quick lick of mascara lol

avon concealor
australis liquid foundation
satin loose powder (chemist)

lol works for me though ive tried the thin lizzy before, and its good but one day i didnt think it was working so kept putting more on thinking i just didnt have enough on the brush... then went orange lol.

No, the mineral powders are really good for coverage, because you can either do a light coverage , or apply a few coats .

My gosh , I was addicted to foundation now im too busy to care ,but these are ones I've used

Shiseido Beauty cake -thats what im back to using now, its easy to get good coverage, tho it doesn't spread as well as it did when I was 16 .

Elizabeth Arden

Revlon -colour stay , mineral powder and new complexion ,new complexion both in bottle and compact .
I found colour stay very heavy and thick , and liked the mineral powder , and the compact the best

Loreal

Clarins

Clinique -loved it

Mac-loved it , gorgeous shade, bit oily tho

Maybelline mousse foundation , actually works really well , not good for dry skin tho

Napolean -their stick foundation , great for quick easy , even coverage

Lancome

Bobbi Brown -my second favourite, perfect coverage, perfect match to skin tone

Laurer Mercier-my all time favourite but no longer available here (well , in auckland that i've seen) beautiful beautiful beautiful *sigh*


My advice, would be to go to a shopping mall and go to the chemist , and to Farmers (cos often they will have different brands ) and ask one of the ladies to work out your skin type , very important , so you know which foundations will and wont work for you , then help you choose a shade .
They should never put the foundation on your wrist , always on your jaw, and the best shade ,is the one that seems to disappear .
Take a mirror with you and tell them you want to see it in natural light before you buy so go outside and look at your face in natural light as the lights in the chemist etc are brighter and can make the foundation look fine , only to go outside and see that its not .

I've been using revlon colourstay for over ten years and haven't found anything better for day-to-day use at work (despite trying quite a few others). I also like moisture mist....... although since I'm a poor Mummy now I can't afford it lol. There was a big makeup sale in CHCH a few weeks ago and there was some Almay make up there for cheap so I got some to try. It's actually really good. I got a liquid base and also a powder compact so use the 2 together and it gives me the most even finish of anything I've ever used. Then I just use good ol' Thin Lizzy to disguise my pastiness lol. Revlon colourstay for me. Its one of the more expensive ones but I love how much it can hide when I can be bothered with makeup and I also like that they have a formula for dry and one for oily.

I use L'oreal Infallible . It works well for me

Ive been using it for about 3 years now since it came out. Its about $40 but lasts ages.

So I'm totally slack with makeup - much of the time it's my clarins tinted moisturiser and some mascara. But now I've got to look more professional at work I'm keen to get some nice makeup and use it.
